  this means NO RUNNING OR HORSEPLAY

In the Lunchroom

• !!SOAR!!
• Sit at your assigned table/seat
• Stay seated
• If you need to move from your seat, raise your
  hand and wait to be dismissed
• You will be dismissed to get your lunch by a
  cafeteria staff member based upon the A/B
  schedule
• Keep your area clean (throw your trash away), if
  you spill something, clean it up

Transition Outside

• !!SOAR!!
• You will be dismissed to go outside by a lunch
  room staff member based on the A/B schedule
• You may choose to go out or stay in, once you
  make your choice, you must remain in that
  location
• If you go outside first, you must come in with
  your group to eat

Outside

• !!SOAR!!
• You are expected to behave on the playground the
  way that you would in the classroom!
• This means that the expectations outlined in the
  New Albany Middle School Code of Conduct apply to
  recess too!
• It is not okay to take or kick other peoples
  possessions (this means the 4-square balls, etc.)
• No food, drink, or trash outside at any time
• You must remain within the white boundaries
  painted outside

Transition from the Lunchroom to Class

• SOAR from the lunchroom
• Please walk back to class in an orderly way, this
  means NO RUNNING OR HORSEPLAY
• Lunch staff members will direct you to the proper
  entrance to the middle school
• You should not enter the main middle school lobby
  area

Leaving the lunchroom during lunch

• !!SOAR!!
• You may not leave the lunchroom and go back to
  the middle school without permission
• If you need to get your lunch money, see a
  lunchroom staff member
• If you need to see a teacher, you need a pass
  from that teacher
• When you leave the lunchroom, you must sign out
  at the sign out area

Consequences

• If you do not meet the lunchroom expectations,
  you may receive the following consequences
• Lunch detention table
• Office referral
• If you are sent to the lunch detention table, you
  will are expected to remain and help clean up the
  cafeteria!

Bad Weather Days

• !!SOAR!!
• There will be times that we are unable to go
  outside
• On those days we will try to use the gym
• There will be times when the gym is unavailable
• On those days, we will need your help in making
  the lunchroom an orderly place (inside voices,
  stay in your seat, etc.)

Special Occasions

• If there is a special occasion, and a parent is
  coming to visit you at lunch, that parent needs
  to check in at the office
• The office will contact a lunch duty staff member
  and we (the lunch duty staff) will make
  arrangements for you
• If you bring your own item(s) for a special
  occasion, you need to let a lunch duty staff
  member know
• You are never permitted to leave lunch or the
  middle school with another family/parent
