TECHLAM
  • -TECHLAM is a ceramic slab material, it is the
result of an extremely innovative production
system, coming from a high performing and
    vanguard technology.
  • It is produced in whole slabs of 100x300cm, with
only 3 mm thickness. 1 m2 weighs only 7kg and can
be produced in any cut to size piece. It is the
    perfect product for architectural and
    interior designing.

TECHLAM
  • .-FUNCTIONAL BENEFITS
  • large sizes pieces make the installation easier.
  • Its large size considerably reduces the area
where the different units are joined together or
where bacteria can be reproduced easily. Largest
    sizes, smallest joints
  • After its installation, it does not need any
    specific maintenance. No special cleaning
    products required.
  • Almost 0 water absorption, water, liquids,
organic materials and graffiti cannot penetrate
    into this material.
  • Scratch and abrasion resistant. With an average
value of 8 on MOHS scale.
  • Techlam is a high temperature resistant material,
which does not produce any toxic smoke.
  • Techlam is resistant to detergents
    and disinfectants.
  • Without any organic pigment, Techlam can resist
UV radiation and extreme climatic conditions
  • 100 natural. Techlam does not release any
substances, also it can be easily milled
    and recycled.

7
TECHLAM
  • .-ENVIRONMENTAL FRIENDLY
  • - 100 natural product
  • We use mineral-based raw materials, and none of
    which are organic petroleum-based
  • -Techlam does not release any substances.
  • We use electrical energy in our firing processes,
the most eco friendly sound type
  • .-It can be milled and recycled in other
    production processes
  • -We use less energy per square meter than a
conventional tile due to the 3 mm thickness,
compared to 10 mm in a regular tile
  • -Because they weigh so little, we can load up to
3000 m2 in a container or truck. We save a great
    deal of energy in shipping

8
TECHLAM MAKES THE REFURBISHMENT EASIER. 3
  • RENOVATE YOUR HOME WITHOUT DEMOLISHING WITH JUST
    3,5MM THICKNESS
  • ITS ECONOMIC AND SIMPLE SAVES TIME AND MONEY
  • NO NEED TO AJUST THE LEVEL OF DOORS
  • FLOOR LOADS ARE VIRTUALLY UNALTERED
  • CAN BE INSTALLED DIRECTLY OVER EXISTING
    FLOORING
  • .-ONE OF OUR GREATEST ADVANTAGE AGAINST OTHER
    MATERIALS..

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
  • 1.- It is important the proper choice of the
tools and implements notched trowel, rubber
    mallet, suction-cups and cross-spacers for
installing tiles, rubber trowel for grouting.

27
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
  • 2.- The substrate (wall or floor) to be tiled
must be perfectly level, with no defects in
planarity (self leveling compounds might be used
when necessary). We recommend damp areas to be
    waterproofed beforehand.
  • The leveling in the adhesive layer must be
uniform, with the aim of avoiding the emergence
    of tile edges.

28
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
  • 3.- For a better bonding strength of the adhesive
is recommendable cleaning previously the surface
    to be tiled.

29
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
  • 4.- During the installation, there should be
enough light to easily spot any sort of defect,
especially the appearance of projecting tile
    edges.

30
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
  • 5.- The type of adhesive to use is determinate by
the properties of the substrate to be tiled
(surface of brick, wood, plaster, metal, etc.),
as well as the characteristics of the chosen
ceramic tiles (with or without fiberglass), the
tiles format and the final destination use.

31
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
  • 6.- The thin-bed installation method is
recommended with a flexible adhesive. This type
of adhesive is deformable with working extended
    periods of time.
  • For pieces of 3 with fiberglass base, the
    buttering-floating technique is recommendable,
that consists of applying the adhesive on both
the substrate and the back of the tile, paying
special attention to the full coverage of the
    corners.

32
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
  • 7.- It is advisable a careful handling to avoid
nipped edges, chipping or scratches on the
    surface of tiles.

33
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
  • 8.- According to The Ceramic Tile Guide, the
separation between pieces must be less than 1,5
    mm.
  • The cross-spacers to be used must be of at least
    1 mm.

34
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
  • 9.- It is recommended to compensate the leveling
for the possible movement or contraction of the
material already installed. This procedure will
avoid most slight differences in levels.

35
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
  • 10.- It is recommended that you consider the
inclusion of perimeter joints, which will help to
absorb any movements after installation. If the
substrate already has its own structural joints
or dividing joints, these must be respected when
    ceramic tiles are installed

36
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
  • 11.- The installation joints must be empty and
free of bonding materials and traces of dirt and
grime. In this way, the adhesion of the grout
will be improved and will be more effective.

37
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
  • 12.- Joints should be grouted once tiles are
firmly bonded to the substrate (please check for
    adhesive manufactures recommendation).

38
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
  • 13.- The grouting material should be applied with
a rubber trowel (using metallic trowels may
damage the glazed surface of tiles). It is
recommended to use the colour of grouting
material the most suitable with the floor or wall
    covering.

39
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
  • 14.- Removing excess grouting material must not
be left for too long from finished work. It is
necessary to use a sponge damped in water. This
operation will help to avoid grouting material
getting embedded in the glazed surface,
especially in those which has textures as some
    TECHLAM collections.

40
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
  • 15.- In the installation of floor coverings is
recommended, once the ceramic tile is installed,
to protect the surface until the building project
    is complete.Following this procedure will
safeguard the material making the cleaning
    easier.
