nailed his 95 Theses to the door of the
Wittenberg Church - Religion is divided into different denominations
- Some include Anabaptist, Anglican, Baptist,
Presbyterian, Lutheran, Methodist, and
Pentecostal - Appose the interpretations of the Roman Catholics
saying the Bible is the Word of God and is
self-interpreting - Dominant religion the US

- Founded by various Apostles throughout Jerusalem
- Separated from Roman Catholicism when the Greeks
did not recognize the Pope as the head of their
church - Very similar to Roman Catholicism
- Believe priesthood has no authority over an
individual saint - Dominant religion of Eastern Europe

- Nationalism of the Arab world
- Preferred Religion mainly in Northern Africa and
the Arab countries (Saudi Arabia, Mecca, Etc.) - Worshippers are known as Muslims
- Quran (Koran), written by Muhammad, is the
scripture of Islam - Muhammad was founder in Mecca and Medina
- Believe in one god, Allah
- Go to mosque for prayers, sermon, counsel
- Pray five times daily facing Mecca

- Founded in India where it is the main religion
- Based on the concept of reincarnation
- Creator god is Brahman
- Main scriptures include the Vedas, Upanishads,
and Bhagavad-Gita - Worship stone and wooden idols in temples
- Followers are Hindus

- Preferred religion of Israel
- Founded by Abraham of the Bible in the Middle
East - Believe the world was created by a all-knowing
single divinity and all things have meaning and
are part of a divine order - Worshipers are known as Hebrews Jews
- Celebrate Hanukkah, Sabbath, Yom Kippur
- Scripture is the Torah, entire body of Jewish
religious literature - Jerusalem is considered to be the holy city and
center of religion

temptation
