56
Are you responsible for disposals?
  • More than 55,000 Public Sector premises in the UK
  • Any producers of HW should by now have
registered with the Environment Agency as a
    Hazardous Waste Generator
  • or risk being fined!
  • Without an EA registration number it will not be
possible to have HW moved legally.

57
Do you generate?
  • Redundant computers, Monitors, Televisions
  • Waste Electrical Electronic Equipment
  • Waste batteries, Pb/Acid, Cadmium, Li Ion
  • Used fluorescent tubes
  • Oils, Chemicals
  • In fact any one of 379 categories of waste as
identified by the European Commission in the
    European Waste Catalogue.

58
Are You Compliant?
  • Every education establishment, emergency
service, health trust, prison, office, council
and government building should be registered and
have been issued with a code from Environment
    Agency.
  • DSA offers a compliant Disposal Route through
    its Partnership with Industry Specialists.
  • There are exemptions but any premises that
generates more than 50Kg of HW a year should be
    registered.

59
Want to save money, reduce your risk and ensure
compliance?
  • Contractor vetting
  • Contractors regularly checked/inspected
  • All quarterly returns submitted as agreed in our
    CSA
  • Fulfils OJEU tendering requirements saves you
time and resource evaluating Tenders and awarding
    Contracts .then managing them.
