map showing the percentage of persons under 18 by
census tract in Wayne County in 2000.
HINTS 1. Choose Thematic Maps. 2. Change to
Summary File 1 Data Set if necessary. 3. Choose
county level for geography even though your goal
is tract. 4. You can choose your theme by
subject or list all themes. 5. Your initial map
will show county subdivisions but you can change
it to census tracts using the pulldown menu.

shows poverty status by age in Washtenaw County
by census tract. Then find a thematic map that
shows the percent of families and persons in
poverty in Washtenaw County.
HINTS 1. Type the word poverty in the keyword
box. 2. Browse down the search results to 1990
Summary File 3. 3. Click on MORE to expand the
list and then choose the table. 4. Choose all
tracts for Washtenaw County and ADD. You may need
to remove the nation. 5. After your table
appears, click on RELATED ITEMS to choose a
thematic map on poverty. 6. If the map shows a
county other than Washtenaw, change it using the
LIST GEOGRAPHY method.
