- The Faculty of Philosophy is abolished. Its
sub-faculties form the faculties of Arts, Science
and Education.

- The School of Veterinary Medicine becomes part
of the University, the Faculty of Veterinary
Medicine. The number of faculties is nine. - 2000Â
- The administration and support activities are
divided into four campuses City centre,
Meilahti, Kumpula and Viikki. - 2002
- Three new faculties are established Pharmacy,
Biosciences and Behavioural Sciences. University
of Helsinki is invited to join the League of
European Research Universities.
