Disillusioned Condition
  • Life is not what you thought it was going to be.
One can only go so long in the face of outright
opposition from people and events, and then there
is the crumbling of resolve and resistance.
  • Anger
  • Burnout
  • Depression/Suicide Thoughts

Naomi
  • Ruth 119-21 - "Can this be Naomi?"
  • 20 "Don't call me Naomi," she told them. "Call me
Mara, because the Almighty has made my life very
bitter. 21 I went away full, but the LORD has
brought me back empty. Why call me Naomi? The
LORD has afflicted me the Almighty has brought
    misfortune upon me."

11
7 The Defeated Condition
  • We fall into the intimidated or disheartened
condition when we begin to gain a view of people
or events that cause them to appear far more
powerful than the God of our faith.
  • Prison in which we hold the key
  • Fear/criticism keeps us in prison

12
Matthew 1128-30

and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon

Paul
  • 2 Corinthians 18-9 - We do not want you to be
uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we
suffered in the province of Asia. We were under
great pressure, far beyond our ability to endure,
so that we despaired even of life. 9 Indeed, in
our hearts we felt the sentence of death. But
this happened that we might not rely on ourselves
    but on God
