Ive discovered that heaps of them
ARE IN KAOS!!
8
Chief? Its Max, we have to talk.
and I think we should use THE CONE OF SILENCE.
Do we have to Max? You know that thing never
works
Yes Chief, this is too important to take any
chances with.
9
Oh No! Thats terrible. We need a PDSA Max!
Agent 13 says KAOS is taking over our surgeries.
10
Lets send in CONTROL agents disguised as Drs,
Nurses, PMs and ME.
Right Max! Ill call my old buddy Tony Lembke

Some time later
PDSA? What does that stand for Max?
OH Max. Be careful
Well 99. Were ready. The team and I are now a
highly trained unit. We are skilled in
electronic record keeping, MBS Item numbers, Kung
Fu, and the deadly art of PDSA. KAOS doesnt
stand a chance!!!
Im glad you asked me that 99, it stands
for Please Dont Say that Again !!!!

OK Team..whats happening?

Embarking on the Collaboratives was like looking
into a really messy room where you couldnt find
anything but you knew everything you needed was
actually in the room. After a lot of effort
from members of the practice it is now a relief
to see that the room is almost tidywe can see
now which bits need painting, which needs
patching and which bits look good. We also need
to buy some more furniture and establish a good
system to keep the room in top condition!

  •  In general, NPCC meetings are inspiring.  The
access component was potentially the most benefit
for StreetDoctor and probably any General
    Practice.
  • With regard to diabetes and CHD, NPCC has made us
more aware of deficits in our management.  We
have improved our data collection and use of MD.
    Team cohesiveness is also improved.

  • Through the NPCC program we have learnt to
    communicate, listen and share ideas.
  • NPCC taught us that we are not alone in the
problems we experience, and gave us the chance to
use others as a sounding board.
  • Often it was simple things - things we never
thought of - that solved the problem!
  • It is all about helping ourselves in order to
improve the service we deliver to our patients.

At first we found NPCC hard, but we have a good
team and monthly meetings. This allowed us all to
develop a plan. We had to undertake a lot of
ground work before we could show any
results. The PDSA cycle has trained us to break
everything down into small chunks. We have
realised that we can make small improvements
which enable us to look after our patients a lot
better. The patients are happier and the Doctors
are happier!

I always feel like we are struggling with NPCC
progress until I come to a Collaborative
networking meeting and I realise we are not doing
too badly Dr Chris Denz Central City. Perth

At LW1 there was a slide of geese flying and then
ducks diving. That sums it up for me flying
high at the conferences in Melbourne and bums up,
working hard back in the practice. Claire

..once again the forces of niceness and goodness
have triumphed over the forces of evil and
rottenness.
The plan was a triumph chief
