Air Entering Our Body!
  • When air enters our body, it goes down our
windpipe. There are two branching tunnels, each
of them lead to one of the two lungs. These
    tunnels are called bronchial tubes.

3
Bronchial Tubes!
  • Bronchial tubes look like upside down trees. This
also gives the bronchial tubes another name,
    called bronchial trees.
  • The trachea is the trunk of the bronchial
tree. The main branches are bronchial tubes,
while the smaller branches, or twigs, are called
bronchioles. The smallest bronchioles end inside
    our lungs.

4
Inside and Outside Our Lungs!
  • At the end of our bronchial tube is a spongy
lung tissue thats made of many sacs that are
filled with air. The walls of these sacs are
really thin. These sacs are called alveoli. The
alveoli puts oxygen into the blood and removes
    carbon dioxide.
  • Our lungs are located in the thorax, which is
made of thick bands of muscles, or ribs.
