History of the Voyageur
  • Voyageur is the French word meaning traveler.
  • Over 300 years ago they were in search of
    valuable fur-bearing animals.
  • Voyageurs were the backbone of the fur trade
    empire.

    settlement of the voyageur- Metis and Bourgeois.
  • Reflects the key elements of life in the Red
    River Valley in the 1800s.

Tents Trading Posts
  • Tents hold concerts, fiddling and jigging
    concerts.
  • Pambian Trading Posts is the largest trading post
    in the festival.
  • Souvenirs are sold at tents, same with
    French-Canadian dishes.

    a sculpture w/ snow.
  • Voyageur Snow Sculpting Competition
