Canadians. This Power Point presentation is
based on the Historic Red River Trail. So hope

4Reverend William Cochran
William Cochran came from England. He was
the third missionary sent by the Church of
England to the Red River settlement. He worked
among the aboriginal people and Scottish settlers
along the Red and Assiniboine rivers.During the
40 years he was working there he was in poor
health. He ended up dying in the year of 1865. He
was buried in the ground of St. Andrews
Cemetery.

6Sir George Simpson
Sir George Simpson worked for the company
of Hudsons Bay. He hailed from Scotland. He
married his young cousin named Frances in the
year 1829.George Simpson undertook the building
of Lower Fort Garry.

8Lord Selkirk
Thomas Douglas is the fifth Earl of
Selkirk. He was born in Scotland in the year of
1771. He was educated at the University of
Edinburgh. The father of Thomas died in the year
of 1799. Thomass three older brothers died. He
became a man of property and wealth.

10Captain William Kennedy
William Kennedy was born in 1814 to a
chief factor of the Hudsons Bay Company and his
Swampy Cree wife. In the year of 1833 he started
working at northern posts for HBC, but left the
company in 1846 to become an independent
merchant.
11Chief Peguis
The history of Chief Peguis goes back in the
dates of the 1790s.Chief Peguis helped Lord
Selkirk establish his colonies. The Chief
offered the colonies protection and the
necessities to survive. At age 64 , Chief Peguis
was converted to the church Anglican Church.

Hi! My name is Melissa. I am 11 years old.
My Birthday is on January 6th. I did this Power
Point Presentation because I was interested in
famous people from the past. I have a pet dog and
her name is Princess. I enjoy skipping rope,
playing soccer baseball with my friends and much
more. I really like going to school because it is
a lot of fun and I learn a lot. I hope I taught
