Title: The Pemberton Trail

1
  • The Pemberton Trail
  • A community building initiative and recreational
opportunity for an urban trail through historic
Rockland, linking south oak bay with downtown
    Victoria
  • Prepared Nov 2004 by Ken Milbrath, BSc
    geography, MBA

2
  • The Pemberton Trail Vision
  •
  • Imagine being able to walk from Anderson Hill in
South Oak Bay to Downtown Victoria without
    vehicular traffic.
  • Imagine being able to climb to the highest
elevation south of Mt Tolmie, in Rockland, past
    Pembertons mansions, past Dunsmuirs
Craigdarroch Castle, onto the Art Gallery or a
side trip to Government House, and then straight
into downtown via the YW/YMCA using quiet Meares
    St.
  • Imagine seniors being able to walk to their care
facility and network at their community center.
  • Imagine a reduction of crime as law-biding
citizens including our youth, become more visible
    in the community.
  • This is the Pemberton Trail
