Title: The Pemberton Trail
1- The Pemberton Trail
- A community building initiative and recreational
opportunity for an urban trail through historic
Rockland, linking south oak bay with downtown
Victoria - Prepared Nov 2004 by Ken Milbrath, BSc
geography, MBA
2- The Pemberton Trail Vision
-
- Imagine being able to walk from Anderson Hill in
South Oak Bay to Downtown Victoria without
vehicular traffic. - Imagine being able to climb to the highest
elevation south of Mt Tolmie, in Rockland, past
Pembertons mansions, past Dunsmuirs
Craigdarroch Castle, onto the Art Gallery or a
side trip to Government House, and then straight
into downtown via the YW/YMCA using quiet Meares
St. - Imagine seniors being able to walk to their care
facility and network at their community center. - Imagine a reduction of crime as law-biding
citizens including our youth, become more visible
in the community. - This is the Pemberton Trail
