Introductory Notes
  • DEQ has an outcome oriented Vision and strategic
objectives for four Key Performance Areas (KPAs)
that provide a balanced view of the enterprise
    as a whole
  • Program Capability
  • Community
  • Employees
  • Financial Resources
  • To help determine progress toward achieving the
objectives and Vision, a series of outcome
oriented Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) have
    been developed.
  • Each KPI has been designated green, yellow, or
red, to indicate progress in general (green is
    positive).
  • Each KPI has a series of descriptors to help
viewers gain a basic understanding of the
indicator. The appearance of Virginias Desired
Outcome on different KPIs indicates a specific
    priority of the Governor.

Vision By the end of the decade, Virginians will
enjoy Cleaner water available for all uses,
Improved air quality that supports communities
and ecosystems, and the productive re-use of
contaminated land.
