• Work within the military propulsion community to
  discover and insert safe, clean, and effective
  manufacturing, maintenance, repair and overhaul
  (MRO) technologies to improve process product
• Sustainment

Military Propulsion Facts

• Sustainment activities has reached 4.5 billion a
  year. Increasing time on wing while decreasing
  maintenance activities are needed to reverse this
  expense
• The U. S. turbine engine industry adds
  significantly to our trade balance. Market share
  is eroding due to competition from overseas.
• The June 2006 cost of jet fuel rose 178 from
  2004. Currently 11.9 billion!
• VAATE is a three-phase acquisition technology
  program that seeks a 10X improvement in
  affordable turbine engine capability by 2017.
• Improvements in new engine technology needs to be
  inserted in fielded engines wherever possible.
• PEWG is an established sustainment competency to
  aid in these endeavors
