Title: A National Youth Movement on Alcohol Issues
1A National Youth Movement on Alcohol Issues
2Take It Back is a national youth-directed
movement to reduce alcohol problems. It is NOT
an organization, a program or a curriculum.
What is Take It Back?
- Its about
- Shaking the public consciousness.
- Pulling back the curtain.
- Lifting the rug, opening the window.
- Getting to the truth behind the
- connection between youth and alcohol.
3What is a movement?
- Movements reframe things.
- They reveal what is not right (the
- injustice) and then reframe it with a new
- version, a new way of seeing the
- situation.
- Movements put a new picture in the
- same frame.
4Why is Take It Back a movement?
- Movements are flexible - getting in and out
- and around where organizations cannot.
- Movements have moxie - they wont be
- denied, they can be loud or soft or demanding -
- whatever the situation calls for.
- Movements are creative - using brains and
- heart to compensate for money and muscle.
- Movements have energy - they
- command attention.
