- - an association of Rotary Clubs through out the
world which continue to perform the obligations
imposed by constitutional documents.

13RI ADMINISTRATION
- A fundamental principle underlying the
administration of RI is the substantial autonomy
of the member Rotary Club. - Constitutional and procedural restrictions are
kept to a minimum necessary to preserve the
fundamental and unique features of Rotary. - The advancement of the ideals of international
understanding, goodwill, and peace requires
general recognition of the vital importance of
preserving and promoting the international
fellowship of member clubs throughout the world,
based not upon the groupings of Club in national
areas, but upon the direct relationship and
common responsibility of the member Club.
14Powers of the RI Board
1) Directing and controlling the affairs of
funds. 2) Exercising control over the current
and incoming officers of the association and the
committees of RI. 3) Provide general supervision
to member clubs including discipline and
termination of clubs. N.B. All RI Board
decisions unless specified otherwise take effect
immediately upon the adjournment of the meeting
at which they are made.
15Supervision of Clubs
- Direct supervision of Clubs by a Governor in a
constituted District - Direct supervision of Clubs by the RI Board in
non-districted Clubs. - Such supervision, in addition to the supervision
of a Governor of Clubs within any area compose of
two or more geographical constituted district as
maybe deemed advisable by the RI Board and
approved by a convention.

17A Rotary Club
- an organization of business and professional
leaders in a given community united worldwide
who provide humanitarian service, encourage
high ethical standards in all vocation, and
help build goodwill and peace in the world.
18Fundamental Characteristics
- Selects its members on the basis of
classification to ensure broad representation of
the communities life. - Attendance at regular Club meeting is required at
least 60 (inclusive of make-up not more than
30). - Provide members with opportunities to exemplify
high ethical standards. - Religious and political beliefs of a Rotarian are
regarded as being ones own concern.

20The Rotary Club Board of Directors
The Board of Directors is the governing body of
the Club. Nothing can be taken in the general
membership meeting unless first taken up by the
Board. The Board is expected to meet regularly
at least once a month.

39ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS
- 60 of Regular Rotary meetings in each of the
Rotary year (approximately 15 meetings every
semester) - 60 or more of each regular weekly meetings held
during each half of the Rotary year (40 minutes
every week). - N.B. 30 of Attendance should be in home club
(15 meetings a year or 7 in your own home club
every semester).
40MAKE-UP OF ABSENCES
- A Rotarian can be considered absent only from a
REGULAR MEETING - Make-up can be made 14 days before or 14 days
after the absence - The RI Constitution provides several ways to
make-up. - 3.1 Attendance at regular meeting of another
club. - 3.2 Attendance in club activities other than a
regular meeting. - 3.3 Attendance in District meetings or
performing functions as member of the district
staff or international assignments. - 3.4 Traveling with directness to and from a
district or international meeting.

44Rotary Youth Leadership Awards
- In the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA)
program, young people ages 14-30, chosen for
their leadership potential, attend a seminar,
camp, or workshop to discuss and practice
leadership skills. Rotary clubs and districts
select participants and organize the event.

- Interact is a service club for young people ages
14-18. Sponsored by local Rotary clubs, Interact
clubs give young people an opportunity to
participate in fun, meaningful service projects
while developing leadership skills and meeting
new friends.
46Rotaract
- Rotaract is a service club for young people ages
18 to 30. Sponsored by local Rotary clubs,
Rotaract clubs conduct community and
international service projects, and participate
in professional and leadership development
activities.
47Rotary Community Corps
- A Rotary Community Corps (RCC) is a group of
non-Rotarian men and women who share Rotarians'
commitment to service. Under the guidance of a
sponsoring Rotary club, RCC members put their own
skills to work to improve the quality of life in
their communities.
48Rotary Fellowships
- Rotary Fellowships are groups of Rotarians
organized by recreational or vocational
interests. Rotary Fellowships unite Rotarians in
friendship and service, the exchange of ideas,
and the pursuit of international understanding.
49Rotary Friendship Exchange
- Rotary Friendship Exchange provides Rotarians
the opportunity to experience other cultures by
staying in the homes of Rotarians in other
countries. The program advances international
understanding and peace through personal contact
across borders while developing interclub
relationships.
50Rotary Volunteers
- The Rotary Volunteers program increases Rotarian
participation in volunteer activities by
providing service opportunities in a volunteers
local community and communities abroad. At the
international level, two directories are
available to match registered Rotary Volunteers
with service projects.
51World Community Service
- Through the World Community Service program,
Rotarians conduct community service projects to
meet human needs and improve lives. Clubs in need
of help to complete a project partner with a club
abroad willing to provide funds, materials, and
technical and professional assistance.
52Youth Exchange (ROTEX)
- Youth Exchange is an international exchange
program that provides thousands of young people
with the opportunity to meet people from other
lands and to experience their cultures, beginning
a lifetime of international understanding.

62Programs Polio Plus
Rotary's priority program supports global
efforts to eradicate polio. A total of US
650,000,000 has already been contributed for
global efforts.
63Two Needs . . . Two Ways of Giving
64Financial Support
- Rotarian contributions fund The Rotary
Foundation programs. Gifts can be made to two
funds - The Annual Programs Fund is the primary source of
support for the Educational and Humanitarian
programs of The Rotary Foundation. Gifts of any
size are welcome.
65Financial Support
The Permanent Fund secures the future of programs
for tomorrow. The principal is never spent but a
portion of the interest earnings are directed to
programs each year. The Permanent Fund is built
primarily through bequest gifts and outright
gifts of US10,000 or more.
