When and Where he was born
  • He was born in about 1864.
  • He was born near Diamond, Missouri.
  • He grew up at a farm but at the age of 10 he left
    to go to school in Kansas.

His life
  • George Washington Carver was never married or
    never had any children.
  • Carver was offered many jobs but turned them
    down.
  • In 1896 Carver accepted a job to teach at
    Tuskegee institute in Alabama.
  • He worked in the institute of Tuskegee for the
    rest of his life.

School Opportunities
  • Carver sent in a form to enter Highland
    University but was declined.
  • Carver sent in a form for Simpson College.
  • He was accepted. After a year of Simpson College
    he was accepted to Lowa State University and was
    the first black American to graduate from his
    school.

His Contributions to Society
  • His contributions to society was teaching young
    students at Tuskegee Institute
  • His 2nd contributions was creating 100 products
    from sweat potatoes, and 12 more products from
    other plants from the south.
  • 3rd contribution to society was creating 325
    products made from the peanut

  • His 4th achievement was being able to make one
    million in one day

  • Georges mom was stolen by night raiders.
  • She died about right after George.

His Dad
  • His dad was a farmer on the Diamond Grove,
    Missouri. The dad had two boys and two girls.
    The two girls died and the two sons survived, Jim
    was born in 1859,
  • And George was born in about 1864 or 1865.
