Back round Information.George Washington Carver.

• George Washington Carver was one of the many
  inventors of the Modern Era.
• He is known for discovering more than 300 ways to
  use the peanut, and the soy-bean.
• His discovery was what helped different companies
  make more then 100,000 a year.

How Come?

• When he was just an infant he was kidnapped along
  with his mother by Confederate night raiders.
• Also, he could not go to a elementary school
  because of his race.

The Past!

• From the beginning of his life living on his
  fathers farm, George Washington Carver worked
  hard to learn more about nature.
• He moved away from his family and went to Iowa
  college.
• With this education he soon created on of the
  most delicious concoctions in the world that
  could go on bread.

• Through seeing what Washington accomplished,
  scientist have been working hard to try to top
  his improvements.
• Because of his work scientist have made new forms
  of his delicious, and sticky peanut formed
  compound.

• Because of George Washington Carver many
  scientist have worked frequently on trying to
  create more improved forms of items that he has
  created!
• Many scientist have already improved on many of
  the hundreds of products he has invented.
• For example, they have found a way to make peanut
  butter easier to eat when astronauts are in
  space.
• This will help make it much easier when more
  people are able to go into space later on in the
  years.

Education!

• Elementary He studied in a one-room school
  house on a farm,owned by his father in Newton
  Country, in South-West Virginia.
• High- school Went to Minneapolis High school in
  Kansas for 4 years.
• College(Age of 30)- Accepted to Simpson College
  in Indiana, Iowa. Was the first black student.
• He studied piano, and art while he was there.
• He gained the Bachelor of Science from Iowa
  Agricultural College in 1894.

What occurred in the Modern Era?

• 1800CE After the Revolution frees hemp imports
  from the control of British firms, American ships
  trade directly with the Russians and Prussians.
• Each year between 1839 and 1843, the Charlestown
  Navy yard processes an average of 500 tons of
  Russian hemp but only seven tons are grown in
  America.
• 1917CE German inventor George Schlichten seems
  to solve the labor-intensive problem of
  hemp-growing with his invention of a decorticator
  that would compete in the paper-making industry.
