Reforestation for OPEC
  • The annual loss from 1990 to 2000 was 25,780
    Km2/year for SE Asia from 3,231,560 Km2 in 1990
    to 2,831,270 Km2 in 2005 That means there is at
    least 400,000 that could be reforested is paid
    for by, say OPEC for carbon Credits.
  • From last years Sustainable energy homework we
    calculated that reforesting Brazil could
    sequester 26,000 million metric tonnes (2.6 x
    1013 kg in 15 years) in 600,000 Km2 of
    reforestation.
  • Carbon Credits are about 37/ton on the
    international Market. They are worth then about
    962,000,000,000 i.e. 0.962 Trillion
