Title: Sept. 11th 2001 Part 2
1Sept. 11th 2001Part 2
- More unanswered questions about what happened.
2The mountain of information and dis-information
- Due to the scope of Sept. 11th, only the Pentagon
strike will be reviewed here. - This is the 2nd part of a 3 part series.
- This information is available through various
public means and will hopefully make you question
the events which took place that fateful day.
3The Pentagon Strike A quick reminder of what
happened..
- At about 937AM a jetliner, presumably American
Airlines Flight 77, flew toward the western face
of the Pentagon and exploded as it smashed
through the facade, primarily on the first floor. - Early news reports placed the event anywhere
between 937 and 945 AM. The 9/11 Commission
Report pegged the crash at 93746 on the basis
of the NTSB report "Flight Path Study-American
Airlines Flight 77," which remains unavailable to
the public. - At 1010 AM, a section of the Pentagon's west
block above the impact zone collapsed.
4Flight 77 was a Boeing 757
- Lets review the B-757
- Dimensions Length- 155ft (47meters).
- Wing Span- 124ft (38meters).
- Height- 44ft (13meters).
- Weights Normal empty weight- 126000lbs
(57180kg). - Maximum Take-off weight- 250000lbs
(113395kg). - Power plant Depending on customer options,
either Rolls-Royce RB211s or Pratt and Whitney
PW2037, rated at 37000lbs, 41700lbs respectively,
each engine. - Accommodation Flight crew of two and nine
interior arrangements from 178 passengers up to
239.
5Pentagon DamageDamage to Pentagon and
Surroundings Prompts Questions About Attack Plane
- The central impact hole has a diameter only
slightly larger than a 757 fuselage. - The damage on the right side of the central hole
is difficult to reconcile with the impact of an
intact starboard engine of a 757. - The single hole through to the C-Ring section
of the building suggests a single-engine attack
plane. (More on this later) - The lawn outside the damaged facade showed no
signs of gouging caused by an aircraft. - Objects seemingly in the plane's flight path
outside the building were apparently not
disturbed. - The facade shows no impression of the ends of the
wings or vertical stabilizer of a 757.
6Pentagon DamageDamage to Pentagon and
Surroundings Prompts Questions About Attack Plane
- The Entry Punctures
- Regions in which the Pentagon's west facade were
punctured were restricted to the first and second
floors. The puncture on the second floor was
about 18 feet wide and extended to the top of the
second floor, about 26 feet above the ground. The
region with punctures on the first floor was
about 96 feet wide. - Damage Beyond Punctured Region
- Beyond the 90-foot-by-26-foot region within which
walls were broken away, the facade showed
abrasion suggesting blast damage, but no
impression of the profile of a Boeing 757. No
windows were broken on either side of the 90-foot
span or above the second floor.
7Pentagon DamageDamage to Pentagon and
Surroundings Prompts Questions About Attack Plane
- The C-Ring Exit Hole
- The wall of the Pentagon's C-Ring was punctured
by a nearly circular hole. The hole was
apparently made by the remains of the plane's
fuselage, whose apparent impact trajectory lines
up with the punch-out hole. More on this later..
8Pentagon DamageDamage to Pentagon and
Surroundings Prompts Questions About Attack Plane
- The final approach of the attack plane was so low
and fast that the wings clipped lamp-posts on the
adjacent highway and damaged objects in the
construction yard in front of the building. - The crash embedded the plane almost entirely in
the first floor, wiping out most of the personnel
in the Office of Naval Intelligence, that had
recently been moved into the newly renovated
section. Pilots doubt that even the most skilled
fighter pilots could have executed such a precise
surgical strike, particularly with such a large
plane. - How was it possible to fly a 757 so low to the
ground, hit lamp posts but not leave a SINGLE
MARK in the Pentagon lawn?
- Remember that the engine nacelles hang well below
the wing on a B757. Yet the initial impact was
almost at ground level. Good piloting skill? Or
sheer luck?
9Pentagon DamageDamage to Pentagon and
Surroundings Prompts Questions About Attack Plane
- More importantly, apart from the lack of any
gouging in the lawn leading up to the crash-site
Is the lack of any debris in the front lawn of
the Pentagon from the crashed airliner. - Even a truck bomb would leave a crater in the
ground and wreckage. - What happened to the wings and engines of the
B757. Unlike the WTC crashes in which the entire
aircraft were devoured by the buildings, in the
Pentagon crash only a small hole was caused in
the initial impact. Yet ONE engine was found
INSIDE the Pentagon.
10Clueless Super-Pilots Jetliner Aerobatics by
Flight School Dropout Who Never Flew a Jet
- None of the hijackers were good pilots. None had
ever flown jets, let alone large commercial
jetliners. - Hani Hanjour, the person accused of flying Flight
77 into the Pentagon, was failing his courses at
the Arizona flight school. Hanjour was noted as
having trouble flying a small Cessna 172. - According to an employee, "He didn't care about
the fact that he couldn't get through the
course." Rick Garza, a flight instructor at
Sorbi's Flying Club, had this to say about the
two alleged hijackers originally thought to have
piloted Flight 77, Khalid al-Mihdar and Nawaq
al-Hamzi "It was like Dumb and Dumber, I mean,
they were clueless. It was clear they were never
going to make it as pilots."
- Supposedly the 757 flew at less then 30ft high in
excess of 400mph and somehow didnt even touch
the ground once! - The plane supposedly hit several lights poles
along the way..
11Clueless Super-Pilots Jetliner Aerobatics by
Flight School Dropout Who Never Flew a Jet
- It is doubtful that the best trained fighter
pilots could have executed the manoeuvre that
supposedly crashed a 757 into the Pentagon. It
required making a tight 270-degree turn while
descending seven thousand feet, then levelling
out so as to fly low enough over the highway just
west of the Pentagon to knock down lamp posts.
After crossing the highway the pilot had to take
the plane to within inches of the ground so as to
crash into the Pentagon at the first-floor level
and at such a shallow angle that an engine
penetrated three rings of the building, while
managing to avoid touching the lawn. And he had
to do all of this while flying over 400 mph!
Quite a feat for a flight school flunky who had
never sat in the cockpit of a jet! - Pictures show B757 and C172 cockpit. The C172
would be typical of training aircraft used at
flying schools.
12Clueless Super-Pilots Targets Near-Empty Wing
of Pentagon
- The attack was at 940, about one and a half
hours after the attack first started to unfold.
Yet the Pentagon was left undefended, despite its
close proximity to Andrews Air Force Base, which
had two combat-ready fighter wings on duty on
9/11/01. - The attack plane approached Washington DC from
the northwest, but instead of diving into the
portions of the Pentagon housing the top brass
like Donald Rumsfeld, the plane executed a
270-degree spiral dive to approach the vast
building from the southwest side and strike a
portion of Wedge One that was undergoing
renovations. While crashing into other portions
of the Pentagon would likely have killed
thousands, the precision manoeuvre limited
fatalities in the building to under 150.
13The Firemen who crashed the party
- Two National Airport fire trucks were by sheer
accident working less then a mile away. - They arrived within 10mins of hearing the
explosion and immediately began fire fighting
operations with 2 trucks.
- They reported that the fire was put out within 7
to 8 minutes of their arrival. - Most of the severe fire they encountered was
actually caused by diesel stored next to a
generator trailer used for the Pentagon
renovations. - They saw no evidence of a plane crash.
14The Pentagon that burned and burned and burned.
- At approx. 1010am the damaged section collapses.
- According to 9-11 records the Pentagon continued
to burn and smoulder for 72hrs! Why was it
allowed to burn for so long? - Maybe these next few pictures might help.
- What are missing from these two photos? Lets see
how observant you are
15The Pentagon that burned and burned and burned.
- Have we worked out whats missing?
- Take another look at these 2 photos.
- Can you see any firemen? Any form of firefighting
being performed? In these 2 pictures the damaged
section has collapsed. This means that these
photos were taken at least 25mins after the
crash and explosion. - Yet in these pictures and the previous two
pictures there is a total lack of people and
firefighting equipment. More media exposure
perhaps?
16Aircraft Debris Mysteriously Appears
- Previous photos showed very little in the way of
any large aircraft parts of any description. - Later photos show parts of aircraft being
scattered all over the place. - Yet surprisingly no aircraft wings or engine
parts were discovered outside the Pentagons
front lawn. - What is more surprising is the parts found INSIDE
the building.
17Aircraft Debris Mystery
- As the initial impact hole was only just larger
then diameter of the aircrafts fuselage, it would
be logical to say that the wings would have
sheered off (along with engines and
undercarriage, which are mounted on the wings).
This would mean these parts would be outside the
Pentagon? - Why is it then a part of a turbine engine was
located inside the building? The nose leg part in
the 2nd picture along with the engine section
have never been officially identified.
18Aircraft Debris MysteryWhat caused the C ring
punch out hole?
- Shown in the picture is the supposed path taken
by aircraft remains through 5 concrete steel
re-enforced walls. Considering that an aircraft
is made from mostly alloys, isnt it a bit
unbelievable that it could do this? - The most single heaviest part in an airliner is
the wing-centre section, the under-carriage legs
and the turbine section of the engine. - There was no wreckage large enough to cause such
a hole found nearby. - So ask your self then. What could cause such a
hole, but not affect the next wall in its path
just 30ft away, as if it suddenly stopped moving
forward? -
19Pentagon Attack Evidence Missing and Surviving
Evidence
- While officials in New York City went about the
systematic destruction of the vast amounts of
evidence comprising the remains of the World
Trade Center, official handlers of the Pentagon
strike undertook the much smaller task of erasing
physical evidence that a jetliner crashed into
the Pentagon. - The lack of evidence of large aircraft debris in
post-crash photographs of the Pentagon's
exterior, combined with the refusal of officials
to produce evidence supporting the official
story, led many sceptics to believe that the
damage was caused by something other than a
jetliner hitting the building.
20Pentagon Attack Evidence Missing and Surviving
Evidence
- Columns of people in FBI jackets walked portions
of the Pentagon lawn and adjacent roads shortly
after the attack, apparently to pick up crash
debris. The photographs and videos of these
activities do not suggest any attempt to
carefully note and record the positions of any
debris they may have been finding. - Why was the apparent clean up of debris so quick?
21Pentagon Attack Evidence Missing and Surviving
Evidence
- It is striking that there is neither video
footage nor any photographic evidence in the
public domain showing a jetliner approaching or
crashing into the Pentagon. As of May, 2006, the
only video footage of the crash that has been
released are clips from two Pentagon security
cameras north of the crash site, one the source
of 5 frames leaked in 2002. - Footage from two cameras that captured portions
of the attack at 937 on the west side of the
Pentagon were not of good quality and the camera
footage was captured at a frame rate of 1frame
per 1second. - Poor quality time lapsed cameras in one of the
most secure Government buildings in the USA? - At no stage in any of the footage can an airliner
be seen clearly. A blurry outline of something
can be see only in one frame along with what
appears to be smoke trailing the object. This
object and smoke can be seen in the top left
frame and extending to the right of the explosion
in the 2nd frame.
22Pentagon Attack Evidence Missing and Surviving
Evidence
- Not only has the government refused to release
footage that would clearly show how the Pentagon
was attacked, it has also seized footage not
belonging to the military. - The FBI confiscated video recordings from several
private businesses near the Pentagon in the
immediate aftermath of the attack. Those
recordings, if they still exist, might provide
decisive evidence about the attack.
- The FBI visited The Sheraton National Hotel near
the Pentagon to confiscate film from a security
camera which some hotel employees had been
watching in horror shortly after the attack. The
FBI denied that the footage captured the attack.
- The FBI visited the Citgo gas station southwest
of the Pentagon within minutes of the attack to
confiscate film that may have captured the
attack. According to Jose Velasquez, who was
working at the gas station at the time of the
attack, the station's security cameras would have
captured the attack. - NONE OF THIS FOOTAGE has even been released.
23Pentagon Attack Evidence Missing and Surviving
Evidence
- Judicial Watch, the public interest group that
investigates and prosecutes government
corruption, announced today that it has filed a
lawsuit and an Application for a Preliminary
Injunction with the U.S. District Court for the
District of Columbia against the Federal Bureau
of Investigation (FBI), to force the release of
videotapes confiscated by law enforcement from
areas surrounding the Pentagon on 9/11 (Judicial
Watch, Inc. v. Federal Bureau of Investigation,
Case No. 06-1135). Judicial Watch also filed a
formal request for a court hearing on the matter
to occur on or before July 12, 2006. - To view the video footage of the Pentagon crash
visit this site.. (http//judicialwatch.org/)
- Judicial Watch originally filed a Freedom of
Information Act request on December 15, 2004
seeking all records pertaining to September 11,
2001 camera recordings of the Pentagon attack
from the Sheraton National Hotel, the
Nexcomm/Citgo gas station, Pentagon security
cameras and the Virginia Department of
Transportation. Â The FBI admitted in a May 22,
2005 letter that it possessed videotapes
responsive to Judicial Watchs request. However,
the FBI refused to release the videotapes.
Judicial Watch filed an appeal on April 4,
2005. The FBI had until May 3, 2005 to respond,
but failed to do so, prompting Judicial Watch to
take action.
24Pentagon Attack EvidenceWitnesses accounts
- While there was a lot of eye-witness accounts of
what happened, everyone's account of what they
saw was different and certainly some stories
match the 757 crashing into the Pentagon, while
others say something different. - The plane was a two-engine turbo prop that flew
up the river from National. Then it turned back
toward the Pentagon. We thought it had been waved
off and then it hit the building, said State
Department employee Ken Ford. - Don Perkal Even before stepping outside I could
smell the cordite. Then I knew explosives had
been set off somewhere. - Gilah Goldsmith We saw a huge black cloud of
smoke, she said, saying it smelled like cordite,
or gun smoke. - "It sounded like a missile," DiPaula recalls.
"There were three loud thump, thump, thumps. You
could hear the metal cracking and crinkling, and
the explosion."
- Cleveland, Allen Soon after the crash (Within 30
seconds of the crash) I witnessed a military
cargo plane (Possibly a C130) fly over the crash
site and circle the mushroom cloud. My brother
in-law also witnessed the same plane following
the jet while he was on the HOV lanes in
Springfield. He said that he saw a jetliner
flying low over the tree tops near Seminary RD in
Springfield, VA. and soon afterwards a military
plane was seen flying right behind it. - Marine Corps officer Mike Dobbs was standing on
one of the upper levels of the outer ring of the
Pentagon looking out the window when he saw an
American Airlines 737 twin-engine airliner strike
the building. "It seemed to be almost coming in
slow motion" - The plane approached the Pentagon about six feet
off the ground, clipping a light pole, a car
antenna, a construction trailer and an emergency
generator before slicing into the building, said
Lee Evey, the manager of the Pentagon's ongoing
billion-dollar renovation.
25Pentagon RenovationRenovation Program Had
Hardened the Facade Attacked on 9/11/01
- The renovation program included the following
improvements to the building - Exterior walls reinforced with steel
- Exterior walls backed with Kevlar
- Blast-resistant windows installed
- Fire sprinklers installed
- Automatic fire doors installed
- Building operations and control centre created
- The original windows were replaced with
blast-resistant windows nearly two inches thick.
- The reinforcements were to be sequentially
applied to the five wedges of the Pentagon over
time. Wedge One -- one of five sections of the
Pentagon -- was the first to be retrofitted, and
the upgrades to the exterior wall were complete
by 9/11/01. Wedge Two was apparently yet to be
retrofitted. The plane crashed into the
building's exterior entirely within Wedge One. - Kevlar cloth was stretched between the steel
columns to provide blast resistance to the short
spans of brick wall.
- This information leads to more questions..
- Why attack the only part of the Pentagon which
has been reinforced to withstand any sort of
terrorist attack? - At the last minute the aircraft changed its
attack profile and rammed the almost empty
section of the Pentagon - If the façade was reinforced so much, how did a
section of aircraft punch its way through 5 steel
reinforced walls and end up in the corridor of
the C section ring? (Even though no aircraft
wreckage large enough to cause such a hole was
never found nearby).
26Pentagon Explosion Involved More than Jet Fuel
Combustion?
- The Pentagon attack involved an explosive
detonation. This is documented by eyewitness
reports of several features of the event that can
be explained by powerful explosives, but not by
the impact of a jetliner and combustion of its
fuel. Those features include - A shockwave that was strong enough to knock
people off their feet hundreds of feet from the
center of the blast. - The odor of cordite, an explosive compound was
reported by many witnesses. - A very bright silvery flash as opposed to an
orange fireball which is what would normally be
associated with the burning of Turbine fuel of an
aircraft.
27NORAD Stand-Down ?Why did it take so long to
re-act?
- There are several elements involved in domestic
air defence. The air traffic control system
continuously monitors air traffic and notifies
NORAD of any deviations of any aircraft from
their flight-paths or loss of radio contact.
NORAD monitors air and space traffic continuously
and is prepared to react immediately to threats
and emergencies. It has the authority to order
units from the Air National Guard, the Air Force,
or other armed services to scramble fighters in
pursuit of jetliners in trouble. - Yet it failed to respond in a timely manner until
after the attack was over, more than an hour and
a half after it had started. The official
timeline describes a series of events and mode of
response in which the delays are spread out into
a number of areas. There are failures upon
failures, in what might be described as a
strategy of layered failures, or failure in
depth. The failures can be divided into four
types. - Failures to report Based on the official
timeline, the FAA response times for reporting
the deviating aircraft were many times longer
than the prescribed times. - Failures to scramble NORAD, once notified of the
off-course aircraft, failed to scramble jets from
the nearest bases. - Failures to intercept Once airborne,
interceptors failed to reach their targets
because they flew at small fractions of their top
speeds. - Failures to redeploy Fighters that were airborne
and within interception range of the deviating
aircraft were not redeployed to pursue them. - No interceptors were scrambled from Andrews Air
Force Base to protect the capital, at least not
before the Pentagon was hit. Andrews Air Force
Base had two squadrons of fighters on alert, and
is only 10 miles from the Pentagon. - Andrews Air Force Base, located on the outskirts
of the capital, is just over 10 miles from the
Pentagon. One would have expected interceptors to
be scrambled to protect the capital within a few
minutes of the 815 loss of contact with Flight
11. Instead, no fighters from Andrews reached the
Pentagon until 949, several minutes after the
assault.
28National Security prevents the NTSB from doing
its job?
- As in the case of the World Trade Center site,
the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
took control of the crime scene and supervised
the official investigation of it. Also as in
Manhattan, FEMA officials in Washington appointed
volunteers from the American Society of Civil
Engineers (ASCE) to investigate the crime and
write a report. The team was dubbed the BPS
(Building Performance Study). The BPS
investigated the response of the building to the
crash, not the crash itself, evidence of which
was not available to them. - By the time the full Pentagon BPS team visited
the site, all debris from the aircraft and
structural collapse had been removed. - The Pentagon BPS is the only government
investigation of the crash of Flight 77 that it
admits to existing, but it was defined as and
limited to an investigation of the performance of
the building. There was no investigation into the
crash by the National Transportation and Safety
Board (NTSB). The Probable Cause document for
Flight 77 on the NTSB's website reads - The terrorist attacks of September
11, 2001 are under the jurisdiction of the
Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Safety Board
provided requested technical assistance to the
FBI, and any material generated by the NTSB is
under the control of the FBI. The Safety Board
does not plan to issue a report or open a public
docket. - The NTSB is the responsible body which
investigates ALL aircraft accidents and incidents
in the USA, yet the hijackings of Sept.11th were
never officially investigated by the NTSB. Had
the NTSB investigated the 4 hijackings, they
would have been able to identify the aircraft and
aircraft wreckage.
29Misinformation Maintaining the Official Story
in the Face of Glaring Contradictions
- Ensuring the success of the official story of
9/11/01 despite the long sequence of highly
improbable events it supposes required that
people not pay too much attention to the details.
This would be ensured by the "shock and awe" of
the attack itself combined with an intense
propaganda campaign to sell the official story.
Ironically, the vast majority of those who
created and promoted that propaganda probably did
so innocently, never questioning the official
version of events. The idea that the entire
attack was an inside job was simply too
unthinkable for most Americans to consider. - The use of disinformation and diversion to
manipulate public opinion is a highly developed
art. It is well understood not only by
psychological operations experts in the national
security establishment, but also by marketing and
public relations wizards. - On the day of the attack, details about the
alleged perpetrators emerged with a rapidity that
is remarkable given the assertions by
high-ranking administration officials that no one
had ever considered that an attacker could fly
planes into buildings. Within hours the
identities of several of the alleged hijackers
were known, and Osama bin Laden was being
presented as the prime suspect. Within two days
the FBI published the identities of all the
alleged hijackers. It was being presented as an
open-and-shut case. - The mass media were consistent in avoiding asking
the most obvious questions. Why did the air
defense network fail to respond? Why did Flight
77 target the recently-fortified, mostly empty
portion of the Pentagon? Why was the Ground Zero
steel removed and destroyed as fast as possible?
The media shirked their public service obligation
of acting as watchdogs of the government, and
instead became cheerleaders for the
administration's war plans for central Asia. - The vast body of print reportage about September
11 attack is notable for an abundance of
contradictions. The timelines in the Complete
9-11 Timeline series reveal numerous
inconsistencies, such as between reported times
of events. These discrepancies, combined with the
lack of evidence, discourage investigation of
facts of the attack. Meanwhile, the impending
attack on Afghanistan, the alleged Islam-terror
link, and "homeland security" got the attention.
30Pentagon Strike Conclusions
- The photographic and eyewitness evidence seem to
support two conflicting conclusions - Eyewitness evidence A jetliner with a shape and
colour matching an American Airlines aircraft
crashed at the Pentagon. - Post-crash photographs Whatever object collided
with the building was not a Boeing 757, but
something much smaller. - The incompatibility between these conclusions has
engendered a long-standing controversy within the
9/11 Truth Movement between those persuaded by
the eyewitness reports that the attack plane was
a jetliner and likely Flight 77, and those
convinced by analysis of the photographic
evidence that the attack plane was something else
entirely. - The eyewitness evidence does not prove that the
attack plane was Flight 77, but only that it had
the appearances of the type of plane that Flight
77 was. Conversely, the photographs do not prove
that the attack plane was not Flight 77, but only
that the damage to the building does not have the
appearance that most people would expect such a
crash to produce. Indeed, several of the
eyewitnesses who were convinced that they saw a
large jetliner swoop towards the building and
explode, expressed confusion about what had
become of the aircraft when the smoke cleared.
31Ask yourself these questions
- Why would the US Government first say there was
NO footage of the crash, then a few years later
provide grainy, blurry images which still do not
show conclusively what hit the Pentagon? Despite
the fact that there are literally dozens and
dozens of cameras surrounding the whole area.. - Why is there no substantial wreckage of the
aircraft? 60tons of aircraft and over 60 bodies
which vaporised into thin air.. - Why would a suicidal pilot with little-to-no
flying skills, skim over the ground at 30ft high
at 400miles an hour to hit the virtually empty
section of the Pentagon? Wouldnt it be easier to
dive into the Pentagon from above to achieve
maximum damage? - Why did no air-defence assets manage to arrive
over the restricted airspace surrounding the
White House and Pentagon until some 10mins after
impact of Flight 77? Flight 77 flew for nearly an
hour after it disappeared from radar.. - For such a large aircraft flying so fast and so
low to the ground, why was there no reports about
the damage from the aircrafts wake turbulence or
jet blast? - The families of those affected by the events on
Sept.11th deserve to know the truth. - Public pressure on the US Government is needed to
re-open investigations. - The popular media has failed to ask the hard
questions. Its time that we did instead..
