Bibliography
  • Adkins, Lesley and Roy Adkins. Handbook to Life
in Ancient Rome. New York Oxford University
Press, 1994. I think this book is a good
resource for my project and would be good for
others because it provides great information on
the social classes, the different orders and the
Emperors role Rome and specifically on some
emperors. I believe that the authors are
qualified to provide information on these
topics because they are both professional
archaeologists and have written numerous books on
    the topics of Roman life.
  • Augustus Images of Power. Mark Morford.
University of Virginia. 6 Nov. 2001lthttp//etext.l
    ib.virginia.edu/users/morford/augimage.htmlgt.
  • This website was a great research website for
pictures of statues and images relating to
Augustus and information about the pictures and
sculptures of him and I would recommend it to
anyone researching Augustus and needs pictures. I
believe the author is qualified to give this
information because he a classics professor at
the University of Virginia and it was easy to
    understand.
  • Haywood, John. The Romans. New York Oxford
    University Press, 1994.
  • This book was very simplistic and was meant for
younger people but I would recommend it to my
classmates because the information is easy to
understand. I believe that the author is
qualified to provide information for any report
concerning the Romans because the information
seems to be consistent with the other information
that I have seen on this topic.
  • Le Glay, Marcel, Jean-Louis Voisin, and Yann le
Bohec. A History of Rome. Malden
  • Blackwell Publishers, 1996. I think this book is
a good resource for the project because it gives
a through history of Rome (hence the title) even
though this book was tough to read I would still
recommend it to the class. I believe the author
is qualified to provide information because the
whole list of authors are all professors of this
    topic in great universities.
  • Nelson, Eric. The Complete Idiots Guide to the
    Roman Empire. Indianapolis Pearson Education
Company, 2002. I think that this book is a great
resource for anyones project because the
information is easy to comprehend and tells a lot
of stories about the Emperors in intriguing ways.
The author is definitely qualified to provide the
information because he is consistent with the
other books and websites I have seen on the same
    topic.
  • Ottilia Beurger Collection of Ancient and
Byzantine Coins at Lawrence University, The.

    ept/art/buerger/catalogue/062.htmlgt.
  • This site was reach through the Google search
engine and was very useful for this specific
coin. The author is qualified to provide this
information because she is the curator of the
    coin collection at Lawrence University.
