• The John F. Kennedy Library is located in Boston
  Massachusetts. It overlooks the Boston Harbor and
  skyline. It is nine-stories high and 150,000
  square feet.

• The John F. Kennedy Library is classified as a
  Special Library. It is dedicated to the memory of
  John F. Kennedy. The purpose of the library is to
  have people study and understand the Presidents
  life and career and the time period in which he
  lived.

• The John F. Kennedy Library opened on October 20,
  1979. There was a dedication ceremony presented
  by President Jimmy Carter.

• There is also a museum located in the Library. It
  contains 21 exhibits and 21 video presentations.

• The historical collection consists of 8,400,000
  papers, 34,000,000 pages of manuscripts, 180,000
  still photographs, 1,000 audio tapes, 1,800 oral
  history tapes. There are 25,000 volumes of books.
