find it in the test booklet.
7READ, READ, READ AGAIN !
I suggest reading the problem through once
before beginning. Identify the information you
need to solve the problem by reading a second
time. Solve the problem and then read again to
make certain youve found the required
information.

8Draw a diagrampictures say 1,000 words!!
Drawing a diagram will help you identify missing
pieces, help you organize your data, and
represent your information.

9Know your calculator!
Do not use a calculator that you are not familiar
with! If you dont know your calculator, your
calculations may be incorrect.

10While taking the test, if you get stuck, move
on.
You may remember how to solve the problem by
completing other problems on the test. Moving on
will also help you to stay focused and not get
flustered.

11Have confidence in yourself and your math!
Youve worked hard all year and youve prepared
for the examyoure ready.

12If you know your answer is wrong and you cant
find your mistake, start again fresh.
This allows you to focus on the question and not
spend time trying to find your error.

13Does your answer make sense?
Once you have your answer, read the question
again and determine if your answer is reasonable
for the given situation.

14SHOW ALL WORK!
Provide detailed information including the work
you did on your calculator.
15Answer the questions you are most confident in
first!
Then go back and complete the other questions on
the exam.
