6The first breast cancer fund-raising event hosted
by Jump For The Cause and supported by a global
community of female skydivers was in 1999.
Subsequent Breast Cancer fund-raising events have
been held in 2002 and 2005.
7The cumulative amount raised in these 3 events
was about 1,000,000!In 2005, the amount
partially funded a new laboratory for the City of
Hope Hospital and Cancer Research Institute.
1999
8Our goal this year, is to raise 1,000,000
for the City of Hope
9City of HopeResearch, Treatment, and Educational
Institution
- The National Cancer Institute has designated City
of Hope as a Comprehensive Cancer Center. Only
40 institutions have this prestigious
designation. - Their primary focus is cancer, diabetes, and
HIV/AIDS.
- Because they are both an independent medical
hospital and a research institution, the barriers
that stand between research and patient are
reduced. In other words, there is less time
between treatment development and patient
treatment. - Not only do they research and treat, they educate
the public on how to have proactive lifestyles
that help prevent life-threatening diseases.
10My commitment to the causeto raise a minimum
of 3500
