Meetings my thoughts
  • Meetings are only vehicle for delivering benefits

  • Old school wants face-to-face meetings maybe
millennial generation is OK with electronic
    interaction
  • Content only important insofar as it engages the
    membership (e.g. Ichthyologists)
  • Frequency as high as volunteer effort will support

Items from the Session
  • There was a good discussion on incorporating
Sections (of which about 5 are) which then led to
    discussions on
  • Director and Officer (DO) liability insurance
    for Section officers
  • Sales tax exempt status for sections a state by
    state issue, probably requires Section-by-Section
    applications
  • Felicia will make sure this discussion is
    initiated on Topica

15
Items from Session (cont)
  • There was also a discussion about annual reports
how comprehensive, what shows up on the AIChE
web site, and what about the annual financial
    report?
  • Anette will clarify what the AIChE Procedures
require so that Sections will understand what
they need to do at a minimum.
