How It Started

• On 11 Oct first sergeant received second housing
  notice, forwarded to flight for action
• Immediate supervisor went to facility to look at
  yard, asked to see 8 month old baby mother had
  reported as being sick
• Active duty mother brought sick child outside,
  would not let supervisor in

Actions

• Immediate supervisor contacted first sergeant on
  morning of 12 Oct to discuss previous days
  events
• First sergeant initiated dirty house inspection,
  requested Family Advocacy, Housing respond
  later requested Children, Youth , and Families
• During the inspection, the house was deemed
  inappropriate for the child

Results

• CYF removed the child from the facility
• Active Duty mother ordered to not allow child
  back into facility until cleared by CYF an
  order the mother DID comply with
• House was re-inspected 15 Oct with satisfactory
  results, child returned to parents
• Follow on counseling, inspections, and discipline
  still to come

• Its imperative that supervisors be aware of what
  their troops are doing
• Husband was unemployed, stay at home dad
• The housing write ups were for the outside, use
  that as your key to see whats inside
• If they show you they live bad on the outside,
  imagine what the inside that no one can see looks
  like
