2 Margarita Island is located north of
Venezuela in the warm waters of the Caribbean.
The island has an area of 1071 Km2 with 315 Km of
coastline and beautiful beaches. Margarita Island
and the smaller islands of Coche and Cubagua, are
all outside the hurricane belt and form the Nueva
Esparta State of Venezuela. Annual average
temperatures range from 25ºC to 30ºC.

Margarita Islands climate varies throughout
as the terrain changes from valleys, hills and
mountains covered by vegetation. The vegetation
varies from dry to humid forests respectively
from the base of the mountain areas to the
apices, where clouds release humidity accumulated
from the Caribbean Sea and one can find ferns,
bromelias and palm trees. The climate is cooled
by the constant winds throughout the year, which
as a consequence are suitable for year round
sailing and surfing.
