- The Electronic Commerce Council of Canada (ECCC)
is a not-for-profit industry-led association
established to promote and maintain global
standards for the identification of goods,
services, locations and related e-Commerce
communication such as bar code issuance and
maintenance. - ECCC represents Canada in global e-Commerce
standards. - ECCC has more than 8500 members with the majority
being SMEs.

- CANARIE had the resources and talents to identify
and understand what the ECCnet initiative meant
for Canada on all levels and the risk of
non-implementation.
