Teaching Philosophy

• In my English classroom, I hope to foster an
  excitement for literature and writing. I will not
  only prepare students for their standardized
  tests, but also I hope to prepare them to feel
  comfortable with using literature and writing as
  a source of enjoyment in their own lives.

Reading and Literature

• In my classroom I plan to stress the importance
  of literature not only as a way of gaining
  knowledge, but also as a way to better understand
  the students world and their surroundings.

Writing

• Writing is often a dreaded part of the English
  classroom. In my classroom I plan to associate
  students with the benefits of writing as a form
  of communication and expression.

Skills

• In addition to reading and writing, I plan to
  instill in my students the necessary grammar and
  mechanic skills to be an intelligent and fluent
  master of the English language.

Classroom Community

• Most of all, I hope to make my classroom a safe
  and productive environment for learning. I
  believe that this will be most beneficial to
  their acquisition of knowledge.
