The Meadowood Program

• The Meadowood Program serves students ages 3-21,
  with moderate and severe disabilities, in age
  appropriate schools, in the Red Clay Consolidated
  School District.

Inclusion

• The Meadowood Preschool joined with the YMCA
  Daycare program in September, 2002 to provide
  inclusion opportunities for all students.
• Meadowood Preschool serves students ages 3-5 and
  the YMCA Preschool serves students ages 2-5 years
  old.
• We have 3 full-inclusion classes, 2 more YMCA
  daycare classes and a special ed kindergarten
  class that integrates with the regular-ed
  kindergarten and the preschool.

PBS

• In the summer of 2005, the Meadowood Program
  began planning our PBS program
• The Meadowood/YMCA preschool joined the effort
  with enthusiasm

The planning begins

• The preschool began by choosing 3 simple
  expectations for the classrooms, hallways,
  playgrounds and bathrooms.
• We then chose a mascot, and a reinforcer.
• Time to get to work!

FUNDAY !

What is Funday?

• Funday is an event our entire preschool has about
  every 6 weeks to celebrate holidays or seasons.

• We have 4 groups rotate through 4 stations around
  a central theme
• Stations include story, snack, gym, and music
• Each station is 15 minutes

Why not present our expectations around Funday?

• What a great idea!
• Each teacher planned one expectation around a
  story, snack, music or gym lesson.
• We will end the day with an entire group
  sing-a-long to boost all expectations!

• Gross Motor
• Using equipment properly

Station 4 BE SAFE

• SNACK TIME
• Wash your hands before snack
• Always show good manners
• Help clean up

Sing a long

• We ended the day with a 30 minute sing-a-long
• Each class presented a song about one expectation
• Our PBS mascot, the BEE, came to visit and give
  high-fives for good behavior
