Decision Making
  • There are seven steps to decision making
  • 1. Define your problem- First, define your
problem by identifying the decision to be made.
  • 2. Gather information and resources- Gather
Information and Resources is when most decisions
require collecting information that will let you
know your options and help you make the best
    decision.
  • 3. List options- Listing your options as you
gather information you will be able to identify
    two or more possible options.

Stephanie Johnson
3
Decision Making
  • 4. Weigh, compare options- When you weigh and
compare your options you analyze each option and
what would happen with each. When you evaluate
whether the problem is identified in the
beginning of this process it would be helped or
solved through the use of each option.
  • 5. Make a decision- When you make a decision, at
this step you will choose among the options you
    have identified.

4
Decision Making
  • 6. Make a plan of action- Once you have made
your decision, you are ready to make a plan of
    action and set some goals.
  • 7. Evaluate the decision- When you evaluate the
decision , you experience the results of your
decision and evaluate whether or not it has
solved or helped to solve the problem.

5
Goal Setting
  • Goal setting is an important part of the career
planning process it is when you put your mind to
something and do it. Knowing what you want from
life will help you to set Career goals, Personal
goals, Educational goals. You can then make
decisions and plan short and long-term goals.

Stephanie Johnson
6
  • Short term goal
  • A short-term goal is something you would like to
accomplish in the near future, within a day, a
week, or even a few months from now.
  • Long term goal
  • Long-term goals are the ones that you will
achieve over a longer period of time, such as
from one to twenty years. The long term goal is
the hardest but most important goal to achieve.
Most people have trouble reaching this goal
because it is later in the future.
