  • was a protest to pull soldiers
  • from the Vietnam War
  • Although the main idea was
  • pointed toward the support
  • of love and peace

Vietnam War Draft
  • The U.S. called upon a draft of Americans who
    were of the age of 18, because they needed more
    troops
  • They drafted hippies and draft-dodgers more
  • And Woodstock was their biggest party
  • Even James Marshall Jimi Hendrix, an American
    guitarist and singer was a veteran from the army

What was Woodstock?
  • An Aquarian Exposition 3 Days of Peace Music
  • Held at Max Yasgurs Dairy Farm consisting of
    600-acres in Bethel, New York
  • On August 15th until the 18th, 1969
  • 32 acts were performed with 500,000 fans

  • Lead singer of Country Joe the Fish
  • Enlisted in the Navy at 17 y/o, discharged for 3
    years
  • Famous songThe "Fish" Cheer/I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin
    '-To-Die Rag a black comedy novelty song and was
    a big Anti-War Protest song about the Vietnam War
  • He got 500,000 people to do his F--K
    Cheer(originally supposed to be the Fish Cheer)
    then sing the song about the Vietnam War
  • Worked with groups of Vietnam Veterans Against
    the War
  • Later on created an album in 1988 Vietnam

    Spangled Banner, using his guitar he played the
    sounds of bombs helicopters from the criticism
