Take a glass slide or a broken glass pane and rub
a thin layer of oil. Gently place a drop of water
on the slide The water drop sits on the slide and
makes a plano-convex lens Look at some small
print through the drop lens
Quickly invert the slide, so that the drop
instead of sitting up will be hanging
down. Place another drop on the slide right on
top of the previous drop to make a double convex
lens.

Remove the filaments of a 40 watt, zero watt and
a torch light bulb and half fill the bulbs with
water. The water surface with the bulb curvature
makes a plano- convex lens.

Observe a small object or print through all the
three bulbs
The torch light bulb with the least radius of
curvature, magnifies the most, because
magnification is inversely proportional to the
radius of curvature
