What is organizational culture?
  • A unique pattern of shared basic assumptions and
    factors that make up the life and/or context of
    an organization.
  • There are many multi-levels
  • Artifacts (visible organizational structures and
    processes)
  • Espoused Values (strategies, goals, philosophies)
  • Underlying assumptions (unconscious, taken for
    granted, known by those within the company)

Mission Statement
  • This is the reasoning behind the establishment of
    an organization
  • Why are we here?
  • What are we going to do?
  • Should be a 1-2 sentence concise statement that
    members believe in and stand behind
  • Collin County Community College District is a
    student and community centered institution
    committed to developing skills, strengthening
    character, and challenging the intellect.
