Hey you, yeah YOU! I just received some
incredible news!! The Tourism Department just
contacted me and wants us to come up with new
travel guides of one state in each region. If we
do this in time, we will all get a free trip each
state we choose and can bring anyone we want!!!
Are you all up for it? Well what are you waiting
for?? Grab your notebook and lets get started!!!!

TASKS

• Each of you will need to get three other people
  to travel with you.
• As a group you will need to complete a travel
  guide to report back to the tourism department
• To do this you will need to
• Choose one state in each region- (NW, SW, MW,
  SE, NE) come up with a slogan for each state you
  choose to entice people to come and visit.
• Research important facts about the state
  including population, state facts, attraction,
  entertainment.
• Find the weather conditions so tourists will
  know what to bring to the state. (clothing and
  what to pack)
• Find the expenses that will take into effect when
  traveling there (lodging, attractions, fun/play).

Task Continued

• Once you have gathered all of the information as
  a group, you will need to complete a state guide
  of your states-complete with all the required
  information. It must be colorful, decorated with
  state artifacts, and ready to convince tourists
  to travel to your state! As a group you will need
  to complete a Compare and Contrast Chart of the
  different regions.

Process

• Everyone in your group will have a different job
  for each state you do. You may decide the jobs
  among your groups. The jobs include
• Reporter
• Artist
• Travel Guide
• Explorer
• Remember everyone must switch jobs for each
  state.

Reporter

• Reporter- The reporter must report and record
  all important information and decide what will
  go in the final brochure. Must include weather
  conditions, record landforms, also weather
  conditions to be aware of (hurricane season,
  tornado season, earthquakes, etc.) The reporter
  must be very responsible, since they will keep
  track of all the information gathered as a group.

Artist

• Artist- The artist will be in charge of
  finalizing the art for the brochure. They must
  come up with all of the designs the brochure will
  entail. The artist must include pictures from the
  states, historic events or places, significant
  people from the states (past or present)
  important artifacts, and it must be very colorful
  and attractive. The artist must also complete a
  detailed map of the state.

Travel Guide

• Travel Guide- The travel guide will decide for
  the group where the best tourist attractions
  places are in each state. They must also include
  what a visitor will need to bring to the state
  (example FLsunscreen, AKwinter clothes)

Explorer

• Explorer-Will be in charge of finding
  lodging/shelter information. (tent, camper,
  hotel) They also need to find out the travel
  conditions. (mountains, dessert, scenic routes)
  Also include fun activities they can do, whether
  it be outdoor or indoor.

• Well now that weve completed the travel guides
