Drivers answer questions

Pay as you enter
  • Hold fare card as shown and move the card through
    the reader.
  • 1.00 bill or 4 quarters for full fare.
  • Transfer Card
  • The driver cannot make change.

Ask for a transfer as you get on the bus
  • May I have a transfer?
  • The fare box will print a transfer card for you
    to take.
  • You will have up to 2 hours to make 2 free
    transfers. (The expiration time is printed on
    your transfer card.)

CATA's Bike Rack Policy
  • The driver cannot help load or unload bicycles.
  • You and your bike ride for a single fare.
  • No special permit or advance reservation is
    required.

Bike Racks on fixed routes
  • Give a quick wave to get eye contact with the
    driver before you step in front of the vehicle to
    let them know you intend to load your bicycle.

Bike Rack is folded
  • Release the rack by pulling the handle up and
    lowering it.

Load your bike
  • Face your bicycle so that the front tire is
    facing the locking arm. (The rack is labeled for
    your convenience.)
  • Lift your bicycle onto the rack.

Lock your bike to the rack
  • Pull the spring-loaded locking arm out and over
    your front bike tire as close to the frame as
    possible. Make sure it is placed on your tire and
    not on the fender or frame.

Unloading your bike
  • Leave by the front door.
  • Tell the driver that you'll be unloading your
    bicycle.

Unlock your bike from the rack
  • To release your bike, simply pull the support arm
    away from and over the wheel.

Unload your bike
  • Lift your bicycle off the rack.

Fold the Bike Rack
  • If the rack is empty please fold the rack against
    the bus by pulling the handle and raising the
    rack until it locks into place.
  • Move away from the bus quickly toward the curb
    and let the operator know it's safe to leave.

Exit Get off at the rear door.
  • Please exit at the rear door.
  • For your safety, wait until the bus passes before
    crossing the street

  • Where do I get off?
  • How do I signal the driver to get off?
  • Push the plastic strip beside the window or pull
    the cord.
  • The driver will stop at the next bus stop.
