- Based on the fundamental principle of liability
without fault. - Employer is held absolutely liable for the
occupational injuries or disease suffered by the
workers, regardless of who is at fault. - Disabled workers are paid for their injuries
according to a schedule of benefits established

benefits. - Laws provide for the prompt payment of benefits
to disabled workers regardless of fault and with
a minimum of legal formality.
