• Things to have prior to password reset
• CIMS user ID
• Name (last,first middle initial or middle name)
• No spaces between your last and first name)
• EmplID (SSN)
• Home UIC
• If you have an error then use your previous UIC
• Date of birth (yyyy/mm/dd)
• Date of Rank (yyyy/mm/dd)
• CIMS randomly asks for this during this process
  so its good to have at the ready.
• Your Email address
• If you have problems resetting your password,
  cant remember your user ID, or invalid UIC
  contact the NSIPS Help desk at
  1-877-589-5991. email NSIPSHelpdesk_at_navy.mil

Click Forgot Password (Registered Users

Type in your CIMS user ID and then enter.

1. Type in your last name,first name No space
between your last,first name Middle initial or
name
2. Type in your SSN
3. Type in your UIC
4. Type in yyyy/mm/dd
5. Click Submit Information to bring up the next
screen.

1. Click ok. This box will disappear.
2. Click here to bring up the screen to enter
your new password.

• Enter new password
• Dont use any previous passwords

Click ok once you have changed your password.
This will take you to the next screen.

1. Click ok. This will disappear.
2. Prior to step 3 print this page and keep it
on file for future reference. Be sure to write
your DOR on the page and black out your SSN.
3. Click confirm.
