NETVISOR is UNIFLAIRs new supervision system.
With it, you can supervise Uniflair products
(airconditioners and chillers) featuring
microprocessor controllers. Said controllers are
supplied ready for connection to a serial network
with the RS485 transmission standard, via which
they can exchange signals and information based
on the proprietary protocol.

9Uniflair Protocol
The UNIFLAIR NETVISOR Supervision System can be
set up in four different ways differing both in
terms of the main functions that can be performed
with them and their hardware and software
requirements
TYPES OF CONNECTIONS
1.1 Local supervision with PC 1.2 Local
supervision with PlantWatch 1.3 Remote
supervision 1.4 Remote monitoring.
10Local supervision with Plantwatch
Its main purpose is to supervise small and
medium-sized installations.
11Local supervision with Plantwatch
- PlantWatch is an electronic device used to
supervise a network of UNIFLAIR units. - More precisely, PlantWatch
- Logs and manages all alarms
- 2. Records the main settings
- 3. Can be used to transfer sampled values to a
service centre via modem - Allows you to edit the units parameters via
computer (with remote supervision setup only) - 5. Can also report alarms by fax or SMS,
- and generate automatic reports on a printer.
- Its main purpose is to supervise small and
- medium-sized installations.
- PlantWatch records the values measured
- by devices connected to it.

20Other protocols, other languages
- Uniflair systems are fully compatible with all
the other protocols - available in world
- The more important are
- Modbus RTU
- BACnet
- LON
- Metasys
- Trend
- SNMP (TCP/IP)
21Modbus RTU
1 Case All units equipped with all kind of
boards (old and new)
The units, all featuring a special card, are
connected with each other using an RS485
serial cable the last unit to the resistive
termination the first unit to the gateway.
To produce a connection to a BMS working with the
Modbus protocol, you will need 1 LBM gateway
for every 16 units 1 RS485 serial board for
each controller 1 resistive termination (120
O) PC to configure the gateway.
22Modbus RTU
2 Case For units equipped with pCO1 and mPW/E
brand new cards
To produce a connection to a BMS working with the
Modbus protocol, you will need 1 RS485 serial
board for each controller 1 resistive
termination (120 O) PC to configure the
gateway.
23LON - Glossary
24LON
All units must feature a serial board using an
Echelon FTT-10 transceiver. This transceiver
allows the unit to be interfaced with a physical
TP/FT-10 channel. Any requests for interfacing
with an RS485 channel should be referred to
UNIFLAIR S.p.A.
25BACnet (Building Automation and control
Networks)
All units must feature an RS485 board through
which they are connected to the RS485 serial
cable. This is then connected, on one side, to
the resistive termination and, on the other, to
the gateway.
To produce a connection to a BMS with the BACnet
protocol, you will need 1 LBM gateway for
every 8 units (not necessary for pCOWeb and
pCONet) 1 RS485 serial board for each
controller 1 resistive termination (120 O)
PC to configure the gateway.
26BACnet
BACnet is a supervisory system created by
ASHRAE American society of Heating,
refrigerating and Air conditioning
Engineers How a BACnet information can be
sent/received by Uniflair Units
BACnet
IP/Ethernet
pCOnet RS485 connection,
27Metasys
Control cards used by Uniflair chillers and
air-conditioners allow them to be added to
networks managed by supervision software based on
the Metasys communication protocol. Johnson
Controls installs the units, all featuring RS485
serial cards. Johnson Controls Italia provides
essential assistance as well as the hardware
devices and relevant installation literature and
user guides, including the list of variables
transmitted on the serial line and corresponding
addresses.
Metasys Integrator (by Johnson Control)
To produce a connection to a BMS with the Metasys
protocol, you will need 1 RS485 serial board
for each controller installation by Johnson
Controls Italia, who provides hardware and
relevant literature.
28Trend
pCO3, pCO2, pCO1, pCOxs and pCOc are now Trend
compatible through a serial interface
card. Trend handles the configuration and the
supply of the interface card The cards needs to
be programmed using Trend tools according to the
pCO application program
29Trend
Connection is made through a (suitably
configured) Trend serial board, which all units
must feature. Connection directly to the network
is made through this board. What you need for
the connection is 1 Trend serial board configured
based on the controller software (to be carried
out by customer - consult TRENDCONTROLS)

32SNMP TCP/IP
All units are fitted with a special card (RS485),
and connected using a serial RS485 cable. The
last unit is then connected to the line terminal.
The first unit is connected to the webgate which
forms the interface to the corporate 10baseT
Ethernet network on which the supervision
software operates (manager SNMP).
What you need 1 webgate (including power
supply unit) for every 16 units, configured as
SNMP gateway 1 RS485 serial board for each
controller 1 resistive termination (120 ?).
33SNMP TCP/IP
pCOWeb is a new
tool that permits the connection of the units
directly to a
Ethernet line.
This card can be used only in Uniflair brand new
products for
example in Leo2 or Amico that have installed the
pCO1
This ethernet board will transform the unit in a
computer, with its own
IP number
INSTALLATION Proceed as follows create RS485
network configure each unit (assign addresses
and set baud rate) configure and install
WEBGATE/pCOWeb. Avoid connecting the WEBGATE to
the Ethernet until you have set the IP address
correctly according to the Network
Administrator's instructions configure
supervision software (SNMP manager) based on the
MIB tables (list of variables that can be managed
and relevant addresses) supplied by UNIFLAIR
