What is the SAT?
  • A standardized test used across the United States
    in K 12 to measure the academic knowledge of
    students.
  • It is a multiple choice test.
  • The Otis-Lennon School Ability Test (OLSAT) is a
    portion of the SAT that offers a comparison of
    ability to achievement.

What is the ARMT?
  • The Alabama Reading and Mathematics Test (ARMT)
    is a criterion-referenced test administered in
    grades 3 through 8 based on Alabama's content
    standards.
  • The ARMT uses a wide variety of text sources for
    the reading assessment, as well as
    multiple-choice questions and open-ended items.
  • In the math section, students respond to
    multiple-choice questions, open-ended items, and
    gridded items. Open-ended questions require
    students to write a narrative explanation of
    their answer or to show their work in math.

  • Individual students are scored into 4 levels
  • Level I Does not meet standards Level II

What is DIBELS?
  • Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills
    measures the five big ideas in reading.
  • In 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade this individual
    assessment involves one minute measures of
    fluency rate. Students read three passages and
    the median is recorded as the official score.

How is DIBELS measured?
  • Benchmarks have been determined based on average
    that is comparable to the 50th percentile.

What is ThinkLink?
  • Think Link is a standardized assessment (by
    Discovery Education) that is given to students in
    grades 2-5 in Auburn City Schools.
  • In August (Test P), it tests on skills from the
    prior year.
  • Additional assessments are given in December and
    February with current grade level objectives.
  • Teachers use Think Link as a diagnosis for
    instruction.
