Biography of AUS10 Singing is not a new thing for
sisters Lindsay, and twins Jennifer and Jessica
Austin, also known as Aus10. Since the ages 5
and 2 they have been around music as their
father, Gordon and mother Leslie would put them
in their car seats and whisk them away as they
would make the trip from New Castle,(Pa) to
Pittsburgh,(Pa.) (60 miles north) for choir
rehearsal at the Central Baptist Church in the
Hill district. While their father would teach and
their mother direct, the girls would sit their
tiny bodies on the plush pews and listen to mom
an dad go to work presenting a variety of songs
to the youth choir. The Girls as they are
affectionately called by their dad, actually
began singing at the ages of 7 and 5. Their Uncle
Jimmy would take them to bible study at the St.
Johns United Holy Church.
They have also had the privilege of gracing the
stage of the world renown, Cotton Club, opening
up for the prestigious, Tuskegee Airman and
have been guest of nationally syndicated talk
show host, Tom Pope. They have also been asked
to perform for Westminster Colleges black
history month as well as the And1 street ball
classic game. Even though Aus10 stays busy
singing with dad and mom for the Westminster
Gospel Choir, White Lily Baptist and the
Ebenezer Baptist Youth Choir, they still have
found time to give of their talents for The
Boys Club Of America and the Relay for Life
Cancer Benefit. In October of 2004 Aus10 were
the guest entertainment for a Democratic rally
given by Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Famer Great
Franco Harrisand got such raving reviews that
they were ask to sing at Democratic Presidential
candidateJohn Kerrysrally at Carnegie Mellon
University opening up for John Bonjovi.
. While there, they would be asked to sing by the
head deacon, (Robert Clark). They would gladly
oblige belting out one of the few praise songs
taught to them by their father and smiling after
they finished as they would be compensated a
dollar for their efforts. Well, since that time
Aus10 has come a long way. Singing with their
sibling melodic voices and sleek harmonies that
are second to none, they have been given many
opportunities to sing in different venues. Aus10
has been a regular guest on radio station 102
JAMZ, they have performed their startling
renditions of The National Anthem, God Bless
America, and Lift Every Voice, at Pittsburgh
Pirates PNC Park as well as for The River City
Brass Band, and for the inauguration of
Pittsburghs Boro of Rankins first
African-American Mayor.
