6Research Projects
- A project may be similar in scope and design to
an R01 application, or it may be more extensive
and resemble a P01 and include more than one
related research project with more than one
investigator -

- An individual budget for the initial budget
period (Page 4) - A budget for the entire proposed period of
support (Page 5) - If project includes a consortium a separate PHS

11Administrative Facilities Cores
- Each Core including the Administrative Core must
submit detailed budget page (Pages 4 and 5) - Administrative Core must include
- 25 effort of the RCEs Principal Investigator
- Support for travel to Bethesda for the annual
meeting of the RCE/RBL.
12Developmental Research Plan
- Budget, using PHS Form Pages 4 5 (with amounts
requested in other expense) no more than the cap
of 600,000 - Detail how you plan to solicit and select
developmental projects - Remember no individual developmental project
should exceed 100,000 - Funds are intended to remain flexible and support
studies lasting no more than two years
13Career Development Projects
- Can compliment the 5 Research Projects does not
have to be directly involved. - May not include detailed budget information ,
however should include Budget Pages 4 and 5 with
at least an outline of projected costs by major
budget category.
14Other Important Information
- No intramural NIH research can be supported on
this project. - Alterations and Renovations are allowable up to
500,000 per project period. - Any domestic organization can apply
- For-profit or non-profit
- Public or private research institutions,
universities, colleges, hospitals or laboratories
15Assembly of Application
- Please carefully follow in assembly instructions
outlined in the RFA - Provide a face page for the overall RCE, as well
as each, core, project, subject project,
consortium partner, pilot project, etc. - An RCE is a consortium of investigators at more
than one institution working together, however,
only one institution will be the grantee
institution and all others participating will be
considered consortium/subcontractors
