- ANNUAL CONFERENCE
- IARP has provided me with wonderful networking
opportunities and excellent educational forums.
The Annual Conference continuously offers
relevant topics and top notch presenters. I
always leave this conference with the feeling
that I have gained additional knowledge in my
field.
16TESTIMONIALSI started as a Vocational
Evaluator 32 years ago and now I manage
disability for thousands of working Americans.
IARPs state chapter seminars and national
conferences, has helped me grow as a professional
and maintain my certifications and licenses. The
contacts I have made through IARP has provided me
with not only the resources to provide
outstanding service to my clients, but at times,
the resources I needed to move my career to the
next level.
17RehabPro
- As a professor of Rehabilitation Counseling, I
rely on IARP to keep me current and up to date on
issues and trends in private sector practice.
RehabPro is always a must read!
18I feel that your seminars are second to none,
and the RehabPro is the most useful professional
magazine that I have read in my 25 years as a
nurse case manager!
19Section Listservs
- Now that I have made professional and personal
friends through the IARP-Forensic Listserv, I
attend the national or forensic conference every
year to meet them in person! From my friends , I
have received sample reports, research articles,
billing and collection ideas, software
recommendations, visits, conference roommates for
shared expenses, encouragement to pursue a LCP
certification. My practice has grown and
diversified with the help of all my wonderful,
generous, smart and too fun IARP friends.
20LEGISLATIVE SUPPORT
- IARP has helped me to stay ahead of the curve
with regard to the legislative changes that
impact our profession. By staying informed and
on top of the changes, I am able to make
responsive changes to my business in ways that
minimize negative legislative changes, and find
business assets in other changes.
21NETWORKING
- My involvement in IARP has allowed me to develop
business relationships (and friendships)
throughout the USA which has been very helpful to
our organization and to our customers and
clients. I can always find coverage for a
referral even in states where we do not normally
provide services. The friendships have been
rewarding at both a personal and business level.
22IARP MILESTONES
- Founders of IARP/NARPPS defeat 1975 legislation
that would have created a government monopoly for
the delivery of vocational rehabilitation
services by the California Department of
Rehabilitation. - IARP/NARPPS incorporates in 1981 as a US National
501(c)6 nonprofit corporation - IARP/NARPPS professional peer review process
based on formal standards and ethics criteria is
endorsed at the first annual NARPPS conference - Association To Association (ATA) Network evolves
from alliances among professional rehabilitation
organizations. - IARP/NARPPS engages in a four year legislative
effort to remove the monopoly enjoyed by public
state vocational rehabilitation agencies in the
provision of services to Social Security
Disability beneficiaries. - NARPPS changes its name in 2000 to the
International Association of Rehabilitation
Professionals (IARP). The new name positions
IARP to become the pre-eminent interdisciplinary
organization representing rehabilitation
professionals worldwide.
23Why should I join?Whats in it for me?
- I would recommend IARP membership for those
entering the field as well as long term veterans
