Fun Fact The word photography is derived from
the Greek words photos (light) and graphein
(to draw).

First Photo Ever
In 1827, Joseph Nicephore Niepce took 8 hours to
obtain the first fixed image! Niepce formed a
partnership with Louis Jacques Mande Daguerre to
improve Niepces process, but Niepce died in
1833.

Daguerreo and Robert Cornelius
  • This is Robert Corneliuss self-portrait, and the
    first daguerreotype of America.
  • Daguerreotype was the first practical process of
    photography in 1839.

Polariod Camera
  • The Polariod camera was invented by Edwin Land
    and sold to the public in 1948.
  • This is the first camera that you could remove a
    developing print!

Disposable Camera
  • Fuji was the first company to put out a
    disposable camera on the market.
  • The first time the world saw one was in 1986.

Webcam
  • The first webcam was used in 1993 to record the
    Trojan Room Coffeepot.
  • The webcam craze started shortly thereafter.

QUICKTAKE 100
  • This is Apples first digital camera.
  • It holds 32 images at 320x240 pixels or 8 images
    at 640x480 pixels.
  • Put on the market February 17, 1994.

Kodak DC40
  • Kodak put out their first digital camera March
    28, 1995 as Apples competitor.
  • The DC40 stores 40 images at 750x504 pixels.

Camera Phone
  • The first camera phone available in the U.S. was
    from T-Mobile.
  • November 21, 2003 was when it was released.

  • Invented by Jonathan Kaplan CEO of Pure Digital
    Technologies.
  • Enters the market in 2004.
  • Features pictures you can delete!
