• Instead measures need to be adapted to the
  local situation the species to be protected

• Further restrictions on the use of PPPs - leading
  to reduced possibility to protect plants,
  sustain good quality produce and maintain
  sufficient yields
• Knock-on effects for EU agriculture
• Increased resources needed for implementation of
  the legislation at Member State level
• Increased cost of production - affecting farmer
  and retailer profitability
• Increased production costs leading to the
  decrease in Europes competitiveness on the
  Global market
