2Benefits Offered
- All Fulltime Employees will receive the following
benefits from Hinds Community College at no cost
to the employee for single coverage - Health Insurance
- Dental Insurance
- Life Insurance
- Vision Insurance
- Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity Insurance

3Benefit Enrollment
- Initial Enrollment is completed at orientation.
- Please make sure you bring Social Security
numbers and Date of births for all dependents. - Benefits are effective immediately with no
waiting period. - Changes can only be made during open enrollment
(in October of each year), unless you have a
family status change. - Bring Certificates of credible coverage to
eliminate any pre-existing conditions.
4Health Insurance
- Our Health Insurance is under the State School
Employee Health Insurance Plan and administered
under Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Mississippi. - Care Allies provides precertification for
inpatient hospital stays and certain outpatient
diagnostic testing.

- Health Insurance is offered to you for yourself
and family at a low or high deductible options. - Base coverage with 1,200 deductible. (2,400
family). - Select Coverage with 500 deductible under AHS
Network (1,000 family). - Select coverage out of Network with 1,000
deductible.

- All Premiums for dependent coverage are deducted
on a pre-tax basis under our cafeteria plan. - Cafeteria Plan is effective for 12 months
(January December) unless there is a change is
family status Marriage, divorce, adoption,
birth of a baby

- Hospital Charges for in-network are covered at
80 after deductible has been met. - Dr. charges for in-network are covered at 80
after deductible has been met. - Please see the plan document for specific details
and provisions of the plan.
9Health Insurance Wellness
- The plan will provide first-dollar coverage
without an annual maximum limit for certain adult
wellness/preventative services (as listed on
Plans website). - The plan will pay 100 of the allowable charge,
with no maximum limit. - Benefits will be provided for a maximum of two
(2) wellness office visit per calendar year. - Cannot get any wellness benefits until you have
completed your Health Risk Assessment. - Money is paid directly to the provider.

11Prescription Plan
- When you are enrolled in the Health Insurance,
fulltime employees are automatically enrolled in
the prescription program administered by
Catalyst. There is no separate fee to be
enrolled. 75 Deductible applies Co-pays are as

13Dental Insurance
- Dental Insurance is administered through

persons individually)
14Vision Insurance
- Vision Insurance is administered by Superior
Vision -
- Cost is 4.58 for One person
- or 12.00 for Two or more
- Comprehensive vision exam and analysis every 12
months. - 125 allowance for eye glasses and or replacement
lens (every 12 months) Can get a new frame every
24 months. - Contacts lenses require a 25 co-pay and an
allowance for the contacts is covered in full as
long as it is a medical necessity.

16Life Insurance Unum Provident
- Basic Life Amount is 2x annual salary rounded to
the next highest 1,000. - Minimum Coverage is 30,000.
- Maximum Coverage is 100,000
- The State pays half of the premium.
- Hinds Community College pays the other half of
the premium. - Accidental Death Dismemberment (ADD) benefits
are included in base amount.
17Life Insurance Cont..
- Supplemental Life Amounts are optional and are
paid 100 by the participant. - For Active Employees only
- Additional 10,000 for 4 a month
- Additional 25,000 for 10 a month
- Additional 50,000 for 20 a month
- For Dependents 5 a month
- 10,000 for spouse
- 5,000 for children (up to age 25 if enrolled
fulltime at an accredited college). - 100 for children live birth to 6 months
18Critical Illness Insurance Plan
- Covered through Continental American
- Plan pays a lump sum, tax-free benefit to the
employee when a Critical Illness is diagnosed,
such as Heart Attack, Stroke, Cancer and other
covered conditions. - Hinds will pay 100 of the premium for a 10,000
policy on you and the policy can pay multiple
times, and the plan also has a 100 daily
Hospital Indemnity Benefit. The benefit is paid
to you and you may choose to add additional
voluntary coverage up to a total of 50,000. On
the voluntary plan, you can cover your spouse and
your children would be cover free.
19PERS Retirement
- Public Employees Retirement System of Mississippi
- Employee contributes 7.25 and Employer
contributes 12. This will increase to 13.65 in
July. - Fully vested at 8 years.
- More information will be given during orientation
and future PDIs.
20Vacation and Sick
- Sick (All fulltime employees)
- Accrued at 10 hours per month immediately
- Vacation (12 month fulltime employees only)
- Accrued at 8 hours/month (6 months to 1 year)
- Accrued at 10 hours month (1 year to 5 years)
- Accrued at 12 hours month (Beyond 5 years)
- Any leave time not used will rollover to the next
year.
