Food Drive Information
  • Drive will go on internally at the different
    aerospace companies from June 27th July 12th.
  • July 13th is the actual drop off day at the
    following sites
  • USA 600 Gemini Houston, TX 77058

  • Space Center Houston - 1601 NASA Parkway,
    Houston, TX 77058 (NASA Road 1, next to T38s)
  • SAIC on-site locations TBD

    event, Kroger putting together food bags

Proposed Agenda for July 13th
  • Event will go on from 700a.m. 100 p.m.
  • Each drop off site will coordinate for volunteers
    through their company.
  • Houston Food Bank will pick up items after the
    food drive is over as well as money if any was
    collected. Times of pick-up are TBD.
  • Please take pictures of your event and get back
    to Kim for posting on the SCV website.
  • TEAM NASA volunteers are needed for the July 15th
    event at Channel 11 (28 volunteers in all).

Virtual Food Drive
  • For those of you interested in doing the Virtual
    Food Drive through your website e-mail Jenna
    Franceski at the Food Bank _at_ jfranceski_at_houstonfoo
    dbank.org . She will be able to help set this up
    for you.
  • People can also donate on the Houston Food Bank
    home page if you do not get this set up for your
    organization.

Items Needed
  • Protein Items 
  • Canned tuna or chicken, packed in water
  • Canned stews and pasta/meat, easy on salt and fat
  •  
  • Peanut Butter
  • Canned fruits in light syrup, natural applesauce
  • 100 juice cans or boxes (no glass please)
  • Canned vegetables, tomatoes, tomato sauce
  • Soups with meat and/or beans, meal-in-a-can, easy
    on salt and fat
  • Cereals and cereal bars, easy on sugar and fat
  • Pasta, spaghetti, macaroni, noodles
  • Packages of dry beans

Logistics
  • Houston Food Bank will pick up items from all
    drop off sites at the end of the day.
  • All sites that will be a food collection site
    only, need to coordinate dropping off their food
    to one of the drop off sites on the 13th.
