- Did you know that the content of many of the
major journals is free after 6 to18 months? Some
journals even allow free access to current issues
for example MJA (Medical Journal of Australia) - Our journals page will provide you with links to
contents and abstracts of many mental health and
psychiatry journals and free full text where
its available

- is particularly good, as topic searches can be
performed on it and all of the journals have free

- Cochrane Library
- Cochrane reviews are recognised as the gold
standard in evidence-based health care. The full
text of all reviews is available free. - Campbell Collaboration
- Free reviews of research evidence on the
effectiveness of social interventions. Sibling
organisation to Cochrane
11- National Guideline Clearinghouse
- The National Guideline Clearinghouse (NGC)
contains evidence-based clinical practice
guidelines and related documents. It is produced
by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality
(AHRQ), U.S. Department of Health and Human
Services. - National Institute for Health and Clinical
Excellence - The National Institute for Health and Clinical
Excellence (NICE) is the independent British
organisation responsible for providing national
guidance on the promotion of good health and the
prevention and treatment of ill health.

Library of Medicine. The Mental Health and
Behavior section is particularly useful - PubMed
- A free version of Medline, the worlds major
medical database, from the National Library of
Medicine in the United States.

- ERIC (Educational Resources Information Center)
A library of education research and information,
sponsored by the U. S. government, containing

randomised controlled trials relevant to

- The Physiotherapy Evidence Database
- PsycBITE
- Catalogues studies of cognitive, behavioural and
