3- The Census 2000 EEO Data Tutorial gives an
overview on locating Equal Employment Opportunity
data as provided by the U.S. Census Bureau. - The 2000 Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)
Special File contains data which will assist
employers in completing required Affirmative
Action Plans which need to be submitted for
federal and state contract compliance. This
information for Affirmative Action Programs from
the Census Bureau is the most recent available.
- The Census 2000 Special EEO Tabulation serves
as the primary external benchmark for comparing
the race, ethnicity, and gender composition of an
organizations internal workforce, with the
external labor market, within a specified
geographical area and job category. - Census 2000 Special Tabulation Files can be
accessed using the EEO Data Tool, at
http//www.census.gov/eeo2000/index.html -

screen Step 1. Select a table from the different
occupation tables listed.Step 2. Choose between
data based on residence or worksite.Step 3.
Click Next.
5Step 4. Choose the level of geography you
require. Step 5. Click Next.Please note here
that the occupation tables based on residence
give you the option of choosing Metropolitan
Statistical Areas, while those based on worksites
do not list Metropolitan Statistical Areas as a
level of geography.
6If you have chosen county sets in Ohio, then this
is your next screen. Step 6. Please select the
county you require. You may choose one or more
counties by clicking and dragging the pointer.
Step 7. Click Next.
7Step 8. You may sort the occupations
alphabetically or by codes. Step 9. Please
select the occupation you require. You may choose
all occupations by clicking and dragging.
8Step 10. You may also customize your table by
choosing one or more categories of race. Step
11. You may then choose between viewing the table
on screen or download it as a CSV file (which may
be opened in either Excel or Lotus). Step 12.
Click on Display Table.

html provides Job Patterns for Minorities. - American Fact Finder at http//factfinder.census.g
ov is also a good source of Census 2000 data by
county or city. - Bureau of Labor Statistics Geographical Profile
of Employment and Unemployment at
http//www.bls.gov/gps/home.htm. The annual
averages presented here for states and selected,
large metropolitan areas and cities by gender and
racial/ethnic categories are taken from the
Current Population Survey (CPS). -
- Ohio Department of Development Office of
Strategic Research - Ohio County Profiles include a five-page digest
of statistics (such as Population, Educational
Attainment, Household Income, Poverty Status,
Civilian Labor Force Estimates, Major Employers,
etc.) for the State of Ohio and 88 Ohio counties.
