2What is a compound sentence?
- A compound sentence occurs when you join two
sentences (independent clauses, main clauses)
that are related, together to form one sentence. - Each sentence has to have its own subject and
verb and make a complete thought. These sentences
are joined by one of three methods.

A comma splice occurs when you join two sentences
with a comma alone.

two complete sentences with no punctuation.
